Recently I bought Eric Clapton's Rainbow Concert. It fucking rocks!
It also includes Pete Townshend, Rick Grech, Jim Capaldi, Ronnie Wood, Jimmy Karstein, Steve Winwood, and some really cool dude on drums.
It has an absolutely beautiful Layla, and the most awesome Pearly Queen you've ever heard! It also has Let it Rain and Crossroads.
It's a great album.

There are some other cool live albums that I've got.
Live at leeds by the Who is good stuff
Band of Gypsies by Jimi is awesome!
Eric Clapton unplugged is rocks
Framton Comes Alive is cool too

What are some of yours favourite live albums?

Peter Tosh's disc from One Love Peace Concert is pretty good. And so are Johnny Cash at Folsom and San Quentin prisons.

Social Distortion - Live at the Roxy.

I find that a lot of live albums tend to be a let down.

I've got it on tape man. Eric Clapton's little group is called "The Personel" or something similar. I think "REBOP" was the Drummer, man. On mine, he does Pearly Queen, After Midnight, Let it Rain, Badge, Little Wing, and something else I can't remember. Tight album though.

I like Live at the Villiage Vanguard Again!-Coltrane
Jimi Plays Montgomery is fair
Unplugged does, in fact, rock
Any thing George Clinton and his merry men do live is unquestionably beautiful
Bob Marley in the KSAN studio is pretty good.
From Here to Eternity-The Clash, has a really sweet "Guns of Brixton," which is reason enough to listen to it
The Real Thing-Taj Mahal. I love this thing.
Anything The Doors or the Dead do live is probably going to be good.
Live Cream I and II (II is in the Record Player now, as a matter of fact)/Wheels of Fire LPII
James Brown at the Apollo
...George Carlin

I could pull a few more out, but I can't think

Thin Lizzy - Live and Dangerous is excellent, and so is Hendrix, at Woodstock and the Band of Gypsys album with Machine Gun.

Rage - Live and Rare

Bob Marley - Live at the Roxy (actually pretty good in my opinion)

Coldplay - Live (new DVD)

that's all i can think of now.

I have to say that overall I was a bit disappointed by this album. It should have been a double CD and it should have included some stuff from "Give Em Enough Rope". I've got some bootlegs that are better than this.

The Guns of Brixton was cool, though. You do have to give them that

Yeah I was going to get Thin Lizzy Live and Dangerous, the other day, but it was like £17, so I decided to buy Jailbreak remastered instead. I already had the origional Jailbrak album on vinal off my mum, when I was searching in the Atic, but its a bit scratched, so I got the CD remastered Album.

Oh sure, I just think they could have put together a BETTER live album. I mean shit they must have had tons of stuff to go through, but maybe that was part of the problem. But seriously there are bootlegs that are better. I think they may even have taken that version of Guns.. from one of the shows at Bonds. I'm listening to it right now.

Death to the Pixies - The Pixies

The first cd is kind of a "best of", I never listen to it.
Disc two however is live and wonderful, cartainly worth the price of a double cd.

I like Nirvana's MTV unplugged CD, specially when they played "lake of fire" and "The man who sold the world" (I know, their both covers, but most of nirvana's origional stuff is pretty damned depressing in my opinion) OH! and Arlo Guthrie when he does Alice's resteraunt. I have it on an old tape and it's sooo damned funny.

Nirvana Unplugged is probably the best live recording/album I've ever heard. Usually I hate live albums, as some artists/bands/groups don't match their 'radio' quality.

In my opinion, "Unplugged" does nothing but show what a truly baleful and pathetic band Nirvana is.

Now, respond to this Cthenthar, and you'll be a Commandante.
I'm not shitting though. Nirvana sucks ass.

Just for you buddy. ;)

I don't understand how you could say Nirvana is a pathetic band. They are more accurately described as one of the greatest bands, infact greatest musical acts of all-time.

Sure they were a bit depressed lyrically, one shouldn't persecute them for that. They have revolutionised rock like noone except the Beatles.

Krist Noveselic is a commie too isn't he?

Wait. Is it because Kurt was with Courtney? Like, sure she is ..., but that is no reason to persecute Mr. Cobain.

Well. 1000. Commandate. If only happiness was an over the counter drug.

Nirvana did fuck all to revolutionise rock. Sure they thrust it into the mainstream, and regretted it, but in terms of changing music's sound, I think more is owed to the original grunge bands like Mother Love Bone and Soundgarden.

Nirvana are just fucking awful. Plain, dull and uninspired. The only thing I'll give them credit for is that they got Steve Albini to produce In Utero. Steve Albini owns.

Whoa. That is some serious anti-Nirvana hate.

Just wondering, but why do you hate them so much? Rock was in the mainstream before they were around, they just thrust forward the more kind of grungey rock.

Sorry if I offended you guerrillaradio and/or Rastafari.

Maybe 'rock' (in the Nirvana sense) isn't in your taste?

anyway, not the change the subject back to the subject, but "the last waltz" by the band and various other artists is a great live album and there was a wicked cool movie made about it too!

nope. Sound Garden is 10 times the band Nirvana is. Listen to that unfortunate Unplugged album again and tell me that Cobain can sing or play guitar. Sure, their bass player might do pretty well sometimes, but how hard is that?

nope. But for christ's sake, half the band in New York wasn't theirs. It is truly one of the worst albums I have ever heard. Hell, I could have gotten more music out of one of Yoko Ono's primal scream sessions.
