now that is fucking cool. If you don't mind, I'm going to use this as my wallpaper for a few days. It is really well drawn, but the Grateful Dead bear on the bottom puts it over the top.

I'm a doodler in boring classes myself. Nothing wrong with it, just means you're probably a person with a good imagination, who daydreams and so on.

i doodle to preserve the dying art. that janis joplin drawing i had up a while ago was a doodle. i have ultimate respect for those who doodle.

I doodle all the time.
Not so good on my grades, though.
I sometimes draw my hand in different positions, things that i see, stick figures in action, communist images, whatever else I may imagine.
Nice drawings, guys!
I like the hippy stuff, ATP. That's cool.
Nice Che, Mia!
I love the hair, and how you drew him at a bit of an angle.
Keep drawing, yous are very talented.

You can use a digital camera if you hold it steady, in the right position, and with the correct lighting and retouched effects. I just recently did that to a little doodle tank I did (get the light at an angle as not to reflect some pencil unevenly, and don't use flash).
I don't know where I took inspiration for the general design of it.

A pic by my freind, he is an amazing artist. (its saved as a jpeg so as not to be a huge file, so the quality of the pic is not the greatest, same with the one below.)

Ask your friend if he can draw something funnier.
Is it just me, or does anyone else preffer surealistic drawings to be funny and comical and cartoonish?
I don't know.
Maybe if he stuck to realism...
But he's talented as hell!
good job to your friend!
And that's awesome, Cornelian!
Nice shading indeed.

18th February 2004, 03:43
lol actually RZ he makes a ton of funny drawings in school (ie: simpsons, family guy, political jokes/references...alot of hitler stuff, etc.) but unfortunately I never have a chance to get my hands on them, he tends to throw most of them out...but if I get my hands on some I'll be sure to scan and post them right away!

"My blood cries out for the vengeance of my people's blood, which
can only be repaid with twice as much blood! Or maybe three times
as much blood! Like, if you went to hell and it was full of blood,
and that blood was on fire, and it was raining blood, then maybe
THAT would be enough blood. But, uh... probably not."

that first one that your friend did reminds me of attila the hun from disney's "mulan"
and then the second one makes me think of gimli going viking.

18th February 2004, 14:56
yes yes yes, ghengis khan. i guess i was just thinking of the song "let's get down to business to defeat the huns" and then that trailed off to thinking of attila the hun and you know how it goes...

Hey, LiquidX...tell your friend that his art is phenomonal. The first one is going straight into my D&D campaign (a tragic, evil Druid falling into the temptations of undeath). Great fucking work!

This guy's art is sweet...he has the creative edge that makes for great fantasy. For instance, the skeleton not having hands is a wonderful touch--why does the skeleton need hands it is just going to be using a blade?
