Maybe everyone knows it and I am the only idiot who doesn't, but I stumbled upon this marvellous website, which allows one to download books. It's full of anything you might come up with - I searched for all the obscure and expensive books that I wanted to buy or already googled for pdf and it actually found them and provides a pdf for download. I went through any political book I could come up with and it found the vast majority of them.

It's literally one of the greatest findings on the Internet, for me anyway. Here's the link in case someone is equally clueless as I was before yesterday: http://gen.lib.rus.ec/

hah. i stumbled on that website a few days ago looking for school textbooks. it is pretty awesome, but i have this fear in the back of my head that it's an elaborate honeypot.

Ha ha, it's not a honeypot (it was closed down a couple of times, or at least that's what the government wants me to believe), it's just that there is apparently a secret Russian cabal of book scanners. I know some kind soul in Russia scanned most of Feshbach's preposterously expensive and heavy book on nuclear reactions - a good thing, too, since there is only one copy at Uni and it can only be accessed after months of fasting, ritual scouring of the skin and Pali chants. So obviously that's the copy I use, and not the scanned text available online. Honest.

Looks like a good site, will have to check it out more thoroughly later on.

Booksee is also a pretty good site for ebooks and pdfs (I can't post links yet but if you look on google you will be able to find it easily).

Found plenty of old communist and anarchist books/literature on there as well as more current stuff.
