Fuckin' hell...
Any idea of the context of the shooting? The article is a bit vague. But maybe there's no details yet?

kid was maybe running around in traffic, maybe having an episode of some kind? went into a house, cop broke in, altercation ensued and the cop blasted him on the porch and he died. probably more details coming out in coming days, but kid didnt have a weapon for sure

A lot of white police officers in the United States have the attitude that they are in some kind of racial war against blacks and Hispanics.
I know many police officers who think like this. They will admit that they feel they are "at war" to you in private if they feel they can trust you.

It goes under the euphemism "War On Drugs"(TM). The theory being that crime is a lower level of war. So they adopted a lot of stuff from various wars. For example, in this killing the police justification was that they were "engaged in mutual combat". WTF? This attitude is part of what's called the organizational culture (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Organizational_culture). It either evolved organically by virtue of the role, was intentionally fostered or both. Maybe a base/superstructure thing?
OP, the victim identified as bi-racial. It was a major part of his identity, not quite being neatly in any race. I kind of know how that feels. And he was 19, which means he was a man. Would it be possible to change the title?

why does this thing keep happening. thankfully because i live in Australia i havnt been exposed heavily exposed to this sort of thing. although there has been and some could argue there is a s*** tonne of racism in Australia against the aboriginal people of our country.
this sort of thing just makes me wish that there is some way that the law enforcement of america and possibly the world had a way to easily incapacitate someone if there is a suspicion of criminality OR possibly the police could just NOT BE RACIST.
