I'm kind of a old guy 51, but even so I've only recently begun studying Leftist Politics. Until recently I had never read or watched anything that could be considered socialist or communist. I'm at this point very much identifying with Democratic Socialism. I've also begun studying U.S. History and current events and learning things I was never taught in school. Things that break my heart and make me ashamed of what we have done and continue to do especially to non-whites in this land and globally. I've begun to believe that the U.S. has committed more acts of terrorism than any other country or group on earth.
The interesting thing is though, after all the reading and videos I've watched recently I think for the last about 15 years or so I've qualified as a Leftest. One of my biggest concerns with current Socialism in the U.S. is that it seems as if it is all talk and little action. We can talk about it till we are blue in face, but unless we take massive lasting, not just flash in the pan, action nothing in this country is going to change.
Anyway sorry for the commentary! I love people and I want a world that is equitable for all. I look forward to getting to know you all!
