Leonard Bertram Naman Schapiro was an academic and scholar of Russian politics who wrote books like "The Origins of the Communist Autocracy" and "The Communist Party of the Soviet Union".

His influence shows up in anti-Leninist texts like this Michel Olivier's "The Bolshevist Left and the Workers Power" (2009), where the "Democratic Centralism followers" are blamed on for the burocratization of the revolution.

Never heard of him. Btw, the term "Scotch" is deemed a bit offensive by the Scots.
