Hello everyone!

I self-describe as an anarcho-syndicalist. Mainly though, I am against forms of hierarchical control (especially the major hierarchies such as bureaucracy and capitalism) and favor alternatives such as worker cooperatives, self-directed communities, economic democracy, and even small aspects of participatory economics. I also consider myself a market-socialist.

I view that markets are not a concept that any form of economic system can claim to be the sole-advocate of. Markets can be utilized by an economy where the workers control the means of production. The difference is that there are no economic hierarchies present within this system, and thus there are no capitalist that privately control the means of production. However, I would like to go on to further say that I advocate markets that are regulated by the very people affected by them - the consumers, which allows type of 'democratic market' structure. These regulations can mainly be used to protect consumers, but at the same time, the consumers can use the cooperatives that they work for to determine what types of products should be made next, and what quantity should be produced based on what proportion of people want that specific kind of product. Last thing: self-directed communities that adopt this kind of system can and should implement degrees of welfare if they expect to remain successful, but it should be at their own discretion.

i use some strict distinctions between capitalism, command-economies (Soviet style economy) and socialism that capture the core of how each of those systems operate. I use "private control of the means of production" to describe capitalism. I use "State control of the means of production" to describe a command economy, and finally I use "workers democratic control of the means of production" to define socialism. I view that the former two are clearly exploitative and repressive in how the operate. I view that if you want an economy that actually works for the people, the workers must be the ones to actually control it; via worker cooperatives.
