I am part of the Hampshire Feminist Collective, and recently have been interested in getting in touch with people from other countries, cuz I feel it's important to see how you guys are fighting to make the world a more progressive and egalitarian place :)
I am an university student, and I spend most of my free time in extracurricular activities dedicated to the cause of feminism.
I joined here to find likeminded people, after a bad experience with some racists forums I initially thought were good.
Cheerio :D

Welcome :)
If you have political questions, you can ask them in the Learning forum. That's why it's there after all!
If you have questions about your account, don't hesitate to send me a PM or ask here.

Hello, I opened a thread asking for help dealing with a racist forum, but it has not been approved by a moderator yet.
I was wondering if it was deleted for some reason?

It probably wasn't deleted and should pop up sooner or later. Sadly it can take a while for approval but it is a really effective way at stemming the tide of spammers. I think alot of them sign up and if we suppose they all make atleast one post it does amount to alot the mod team has to sift through. On the bright side you've not got many posts left until they no longer need mod approval.
Hi from elsewhere in the UK btw :)

Hi from elsewhere in the UK btw :)
That's great to hear, I hope my account may get fully validated soon enough
My name is a bit silly now that I re-read it again, but oh well, not too bad either.
I'm a feminist basically. Though I believe in public economy, I'm not really a Communist. What are the main groups and ideologies accepted and promoted here?

Revleft is open to almost all groups that consider themselves part of the revolutionary left. A notable exception are the Maoists Third-Worldists that consider the Western working class to be as exploitative as the capitalists...

Hi, welcome to Revleft :)
Do you think that women and queer people can liberate ourselves within the confines of a capitalist society, or do you think we need something different?

I think we can with enough social awareness.
Capitalism is a very oppressive regime, but it has the valuable little possibility of giving each person freedom.
I believe that as long as very strong anti-discrimination laws are set, and the government does more social spending to even out the inequalities, we could make it work :D
Kind of an enhanced, 2.0 Socialdemocracy.

Welcome!
I'm really curious as to what that other forum you checked out, was.

Few things made me realize that we needed a new social order more than going out clubbing in Southampton.

What freedom?
The freedom to oppress other people?
The freedom to be oppressed?
The freedom to be rich and delude yourself into thinking that poor people are just lazy and deserve their poverty?
The freedom to be dirt poor and be paid less than what your labour is worth every single day?
ERMAGERD so much freedom.

She was probably talking about what happened in the US, when wages and productivity went up for over a century. Of course, the ownership class gained a little faster. But you are still right when you sarcastically say ERMAGERD so much freedom.

Welcome.
Many people there beleive that prostitution is less an exploitation for woman than working in a fast food for a man. Do you agree with them?
