Hi, I have been browsing this forum for a little while and find it interesting. I hope to have some interesting and civil discussions on many topics and looking forward to the different points of view, many of which are not necessarily points of view that are often expressed in general (pretty rare to have somebody identify as a commie or Marxists beyond finding a specific message board where the hang lol)

Although I am coming from a very different perspective than most of you I can tell that many here are well read and passionate about their beliefs so I will be looking forward to challenging many of you and also keeping my mind open to see if some of my arguments/beliefs have holes that y'all can shed some light on and maybe even sway me on specific topics.

I don't necessarily identify with one political or philosophical outlook but I believe most people would recognize me as a small 'l' libertarian in the U.S. definition of the term. I am from Phoenix, AZ and am registered as an independent. I am not necessarily a staunch libertarian as I differ on a few issues but to quickly sum up where I come from - Very pro reducing the power of the government but totally believe a state is necessary and a stateless society is just a fairy tale that will never exist. I also believe in the idea of republicanism with a strong emphasis on far more local control with a minimal federal government. I believe this encourages a more fair and direct democracy, the latter I fully support. I also believe that morals are relative but just because they are does not mean they should be without serious critique and that some morals/philosophies are far superior in creating a more just, free, and humane society. I am also not religious and depending on the definition of the word atheist I am either an atheist or agnostic.

Anyways I will go into more detail about my positions in the future, for now I just want to introduce myself to the board and look forward to engaging you all to better understand leftists and to learn a thing or three. :D
