I drive the minibus for my local group of hunt saboteurs as well as working as a professional driver during the week.
In february I'm due to go to trial after being accused of 'driving without due care and attention' for reversing a fairly long distance down a single track, dead-end road so that I could collect my friends from a potentially dangerous situation whilst out sabbing. I have fully explained what happened to a lawyer who specialises in road traffic offenses and she strongly believes the case can be thrown out.
It's needless to say I will not be able to work if the charges stick, and I am supporting a partner and young child at home. Since I work for myself and motoring offenses don't usually warrent legal aid, I need to raise money to pay for legal representation in court.
If the case is thrown out, the remaining money that would be used to pay for representation during trial will be donated to Sheffield Hunt Sabs, as will any fees that are reimbursed after we win."
