Greetings.

This will be my first and probably last post on this forum as I mostly came here to read some of the things that are said here. This site is probably one of the very few that houses such a large population of leftists, and I am grateful that there is a community at that least somewhat understands philosophy and human relations at a core level. While I don’t necessarily see myself posting here as much as some other people, I will go on record and say that I agree with some of the statements that are said here by others. I have a considerably mild interest in revolutionary politics, but I am mostly concerned with the progressive inter-social relations of people.

I have come to acknowledge revolutionary leftist politics and economics as a substantial benefit to the working class. I have briefly read Karl Marx’s Capital and the Communist Manifesto and I have never really gotten the chance to finish it out of personal issues, but I manage to gather the fact that communism can arise out of revolutionary conscious of the proletariat. I don’t really fall under the vast amount of ideologies as I am still learning and I refuse to claim one sphere of consciousness and stick to it, but as a personal rule of mine, I learn, gather my thoughts and go from there. However, I wasn’t always considered a leftist. When I was younger, I would’ve been considered apathetic towards most things that didn’t concern me, as I process little interest toward most people due to the things that I endured through my life.

As someone who has PTSD, schizophrenia, and Asperger’s, I am deeply interested towards the topic of mental health. The stigma surrounding it however is another story. I would hope that ordinary people (and people who are involved with revolutionary struggles) can at least acknowledge that people with mental illness are oppressed and alienated as much from society as they are, if not more. It is painful to see when people refuse to acknowledge mental health as something of a real concern, but I am wishful that, in the future, there could be change for the better.

Welcome :)

If you have political questions, you can ask them in the Learning forum. That's why it's there after all!

If you have questions about your account, don't hesitate to send me a PM or ask here.

Welcome!

I think you will find that most left-wingers are concerned with issues impacting people with mental health problems.

Welcome! I definitely share your concerns about mental health, on a personal and social level.
