i was just watching TV and thought to myself..."Where does Abercrombie and Fitch produce their clothing?" so i went into my drawer and looked at the two A&F sweaters my grandma bought me two years ago....one said "Made in Thailand" and the other, "Made in United Arab Emirates"
So i thought to myself and realized that those two coutntries aren't exactly at the top of the list for workers' rights and fair labor practices...Hmmm how could i manage to piss off the local Abercrombie and Fitch? then inspiration strikes!
i want to go to the local mall with my friends sit down infront of A&F and just stitch and tailor A&F shirts with a small glass with three pennies inside. There will be a poster that says, "This wouldn't look so strange if we were in Thailand."
I know the security would kick us out in less than twenty minutes...but i think it would turn a few heads because the A&F is in the middle escalators, and stairs LOTS of people....
Any suggestions?

I'd say you should contact some local media and let them know it's going to happen ahead of time, so more people will find out about it and also it might prompt the security to treat you SLIGHTLY better.

That is actually a very intelligent idea. Would also work well at places like 'Foot Locker' where they sell 'Nike' shoes.
To have more of a media effect, we should round up as many that are willing on Che-Lives to do it on the same date, same time, all across the country.
A mod should sticky this thread, or atleast we should be sure to keep this bumped to the top to expand this exposure.
This is a great idea. We should pick a date and get as many people to do it on Che-Lives and beyond. This would get media attention and would be effective if we all did it on the same day, and across this country (US).
Honestly we should pick a date, spread the word, and do it. It isn't much, but is a worthy idea at that. Let's start planning.

That's an awesome thing to do, indeed.
But, as said, you should get some media attention.
Make a press release, keep it simple, don't give too much away.... etc.
Good Luck

thing is, security would have a right to kick you out because a mall is privately owned. however, if you try to obtain a permit to protest on some sidewalks in front of and around the mall, that would be good too beacuse that's public property so they can't really kick you off. and there will be people driving by and they WILL notice you, particularly if you raise a bit of a ruckus.

seems to me that this would be a fun day out for the children too, which would make the point clearer!

Sounds like a great idea mate, always good to make noise about exploited people in places like thailand, get all your freinds to come and get them to get extra people, what you could do is place people outside the shop and outside the mall, you could also make flyers to hand out to the public at different points in the mall. Just to give security a harder job :D

Good thinking. There are tons of places like A+F that exploit the poorest class of people in desolate countries. Definitely contact the media, maybe they'll get on the correct side for once.
