2014 Chit Chat Awards Results

These are the results of the 2014 Chit Chat Awards, after a long delay caused by lack of time (sorry about that, but better late than never), were sixteen members gave answers for 57 questions (and yes, it’s as dull to collate the results as it is to complete the Awards questionnaire).

The fact that 32 people filled out the 15-question Survey and only half of that number filled out the 57-question Awards shows that the Awards are too long. There are many questions that are either not very interesting (for example, asking about favourite foods, something pizza usually wins, or asking about favourite drink, which is usually won by either water or beer) or get the same small group of nominations every year (such as favourite political author or favourite political figure). Due to all of that, from 2015 onwards, the Awards will be much shorter but also much more relevant to both the year and the forum - I have made a list of twenty questions for the Awards, split into two sections, one for the year and one for the forum. That list is as follows -

After I finish posting the results, I will post both the post-Awards thread and a poll showing these twenty questions, where I would like people to vote on ones they agree with having in the Awards - if there are any that people wish to include that aren't given in the list, feel free to suggest some, especially if some of the twenty are unpopular. It’s a good tradition we have on the forum and it would be a shame if they end simply because the awards are as long and as boring as they currently are.

Some of the questions had nominations which did not qualify for the actual awards, so they were not included. No result was affected by this.
