I agree with Canickit. Of course it wont be banned, because there is lot of rap with a sense and message in it. It wouldnt hurt though if the bling bling, ho ho, gangsta gangsta thug crap were banned.. Its just crap.. But of course everybody has right to an opinion and this is my opinion..... :D

Take Dead Prez for example, a clear message. Hardly something that would be banned in a communist society.

dead prez blatantly dissed all this thug bling bling rap
"Nigga don’t think these record deals gonna feed your seeds
And pay your bills because they not
Mc’s get a little bit of love and think they hot
Talkin’ bout how much money they got, all y’all records sound the same
I sick of that fake thug, r & b, rap scenario all day on the radio
Same scenes in the video, monotonous material, y’all don’t here me though
These record labels slang our tapes like dope
You can be next in line, and signed, and still be writing rhymes and broke
You would rather have a lexus, some justice, a dream or some substance?
A beamer, a necklace or freedom?"

Rap used to have credibility, back in the 80's. What passes for hip hop these days is nothing more than a bunch of half wits obsessed with misogyny, capitalism and thuggery. The sooner this shite falls out of fashion the better.

Not all "gangsta rap" is crap. Westside Connection, who would be considered "gangsta", put out an album 2 months ago and had a message. It was also one of the best rap albums of the year.

<<It wouldnt hurt though if the bling bling, ho ho, gangsta gangsta thug crap were banned.. Its just crap..>>
I agree about it being crap, but due to my anti-censorship nature, I could never condone banning it.
<<you cannot ban any form of expression,...>>
Agreed. Any attempt at banning such things is definably an authoritarian attempt.

You'd probably find a "bling, bling" element within almost every musical genre.

of course not. We will dance and "music" all day long when money isn't the sole criterion for life/success/suvival.
