Mass killing of humans and animals in Iran

rulers of Iran are setting new records for killing. if previous mass killings happened during times of crisis and war, today mass killing is happening in a "peaceful" period when a "moderate" person is president.

more than 2 people are being executed everyday. many of them are hanged in public where children can see them. government claims that these executions will set "example"s for criminals, but despite this, crime is spreading.

but recently killing frenzy has become widespread, even animals are being killed. in Rasht and some other places, gunmen who are hired by government are shooting dogs in streets!

when Khomeini entered Iran in 1979, he said in his first speech that in the previous regime graveyards had prospered. today we can add: in the present regime not only ordinary graveyards but mass graves have prospered.

What 'crimes' are they being executed for? Also, why has there been an increase in executions recently, does it relate to political developments/conflicts within Iran?

Rape and murder Mostly. In some areas with “minority” nationalities like Kurds, Baluchs and Arabs, political executions are common too and in other places political execution is not very rare. these executions (average of more than 2 per day) are related to recent political changes to some degree. Government has become soft towards USA but hard towards its own people. islamists want to show that recent softness hasn’t affected their iron fist against people.

i believe it is. government is weak and without popular support. inter factional conflicts within islamists weaken it even further. they fear that they cannot continue their rule without showing an iron fist and terrorizing the society.
