Hey there, here to learn. I'm a card-carrying member of the Green Party of the United States but I lean to the centre-left and left-libertarianism. I started getting interested in progressive politics after visiting Israel and Palestine in 2008, actually witnessing all the shit that Palestinians have to go through and how strikingly biased the world media was against them. It opened my eyes in a lot of ways.
Fun fact: I'm getting ready to start working at a non-profit that helps Syrian refugees in Chicago in the next couple of weeks. I've started taking Arabic classes for professional and personal reasons (it's a beautiful language attached to a beautiful culture) and I'm really looking forward to it. As an immigrant to the States myself I can sympathize to some degree what they're going through.
