View Full Version : How to be politically active among people?

I would say I'm too young to seriously participate within a political organization but I would still like to make some sort of a difference. I want to spread propaganda and agitate. It's difficult to, many people I know are reactionary and even if they are wage earners aka proletariats they still believe in less gov't regulation and the magical powers of the free market. They think communism has failed and there is no alternative to capitalism. I don't want to bore them with lengthy explanations about how Marxism is a science and how human nature constantly changes. I am utterly baffled by their ignorance about Communism and Socialism and their refusal to learn or their laziness. How can I realistically politically agitate and spread propaganda amongst people I'm around?

You're never too young. Though in different times, Mayakovsky was a Bolshevik by the age of 14 and even saved his comrades from getting arrested.
That's all I got, sorry.

Propaganda is useless unless the social atmosphere is already conducive to the message of that propaganda. In short, there are better ways to be politically active than to add to the vast sea of ineffectual propaganda that is already out there.
Get an education, learn how things work, and try to solve problems at their root causes.

Yeah, that's a question I was thinking myself: How can you get politically active?
My issue is not my age, i'm in my twenties, but I just don't know how I can ''actively'' contribute. What are the ways you can make a difference and how do you get involved?

Contemporary Intelligence and National Security. Take these kind of courses in school. Impress your professor. Use him as reference. Submit your resume to FBI or CIA. If accepted, then embed yourself. Gather as much intelligence as you can. Then defect to DGI, Cuban intelligence. Fidel and Raul will accept you with open arms. Of course, you have to misrepresent yourself as 'bourgeoisie ideologue' inside these intelligence agencies.

lol
don't do this.
How old are you, OP? Honestly, I'd say just read things and have discussions. There isn't much you can do as an individual, frankly. Are you in a major city? There might be some kind of organization you can talk to.

I am 55 years old. It was us Canadians who facilitated the release of the Cuban Five. My masters personally talked to Obama and was able to convince him. Our intelligence agency is controlled by Cuban sympathizers like me. Nobody whines or he's fired.

I'm 17 and don't live in a major city. I'm about a 45 minute drive from NYC.

You can excel in anti-terrorism and bury foreign espionage behind or become conduits of disinformation inside these western intelligence agencies like what Ana Belen Montes did. We were both born February 28. Pretty, ain't she. Seriously.

Or you can organize groups of clandestine activists and armed groups ready to pounce on the bourgoiesie enemies when the capitalist state 'withers away.' Possible because the present has created a revolutionary situation.

...or we can learn from the history of the entire Cold War and think, hmm, Blanquist notions of armed "vanguards" has a questionable track record of success.
Honestly OP, I wish I could help, but I don't know. I mean, I could give you the standard answers (integrate yourself into the worker's movement, blah blah blah), I am a member of the IWW after all lol, but you probably already know about that stuff. Continue to a popularizer of ideas, I suppose? I don't really talk about theoretical communist topics with people who aren't already on the political left all that often, but there have been many conversations I've had with random people where they've laughed at something I've said (social or political topic) and go "huh, never really thought of it like that, but yeah, you're right..."
You can actually put a lot of fucked up subversive ideas in someone else's head without even bringing up Marx or communism directly.
