I agree!
not so much on Sabbath, however.
They had some good songs, but they're nothing exceptional in my mind.

In fact they were better, not more popular but better. Oh and the Ealges certainly did/do suck. Don Henley must Die!!!!! The only thing they had going for them was Joe Walsh.

<<not so much on Sabbath, however.>>
What?? How about Black Sabbath just from ’69 to ’78?
<<yeah just today someone tried to say that sabbath was better than zeppelin...>>
They ARE. (EDIT: Zeppelin's only a mediocre band in my consideration. Hope that doesn't offend anyone out there.)
<<the point is the doors kick ass and classic rock kicks ass...>>
The Doors’ music is still contemporary, even in today’s world. You can’t listen to them without realizing their brilliance.

Like I said, Sabbath had some good songs, but they're not nearly as good as Zeppelin.
Led Zeppelin among the top greatest bands of the late 60s and 70s.
All of their songs are absolutely genius.
The doors are great stuff.
Better than Sabbath, I'd say.
Very contemporary.
Satisfying for both the intense or casual listener.

Whetre the fuck do you get off saying that Sabbath is better than Zepp?
Why?
Certainly you're not implying that they're more talented than Zepp?
That would be crazy.
And the Eagles also had some kick-ass songs.
But again, were nowhere near Zepp or the Doors.
Not that they can really be compared.

Compare "War Pigs" to "Stairway To Heaven". Sorry, but I'd have to go with "War Pigs".

I'd go with Stairway any damn day!
And what about Zeppelin's countless great songs.
And their massively talented memebrs, like Page, Bonzo, Plant.
Every fuckng song had a guitar part that can fucking blow Sabbath out of the water.
They had great heavy blues songs like When the Levee Breaks, Dazed and Confused, Communication Breakdown, etc.
They also had the most fucking innovative music, man!
Listen to their first 4 albums and tell me Sabbath made anything as good.
Their last few albums are great too, but a bit of an aquired taste, i'd say.

okay zeppelins first four albums were fucking amazing then it just trails of at the end, everything by sabbath is amazing and by amazing i mean fucking sweet, just the song alone, black sabbath, blows zeppelin out of the water

Id go with Stairway to Heaven aswell. An amazing song in its construction and no dount conception.
Zeppelin has all its members as amazing musicians.
Combined you have a subtle voice that feverishly flows along with bluesy riffery that just blows any guitarist away. Plus a sonic boom bass along with a drummer with kick ass soloes.
Sabbath have an very good singer along with a great guitar player and um...
Yeah its Zep.
Anyway the Doors.
C'mon baby...

zep do put together great songs, and they have a good guitarist and a far better drummer than almost all of them ever, but you cant really say to much for jon paul jones, hes an ok bassist, admitadely on occasion hes very good but not great and i dont really like the lyrics except for in Battle of Evermore and i dont really like plants voice, ozzy has a better voice, the good thing about sabbath is that they match zeppelin in skill, but they are heavier and thats what makes them better in my opinion, i dont like how zeppelin just tailed of after theyre 5th album intio some blues/rhythem like crap if you look at the best of theres only a couple of good songs on it (especially kashmir), ive never heard a bad sabbath song when ozzys been singing even on and even after ozzy had gone there was still some good music which still matches many heavy metal bands

damn this got intense... ok here's what i think ZEPPELIN IS BETTER THAN SABBATH, i mean sabbath kicks ass for me but zeppelin is way better... of course ozzy is way better than dio... and the eagles have a couple of really good songs but for the most part they're a kick back, and relax band so yeah there's my thought

yeah if you wanna relax, sure zeppelin are better, but sabbath is where the action is

Can't believe I missed this thread...but I was hoping it was more Doors orrientated. I loved Morrison so much when I was younger, now I still hold him in high regard but don't know where I stsnd apart from wjheb I am gone..I guess I am even closer to them now.
The sound is different, and although I don't think quite as good as PF when not under the influence of anything, they are up there with them for everything else.
