I've already posted a bit here, but I figured I would go ahead and introduce myself!

I am 19, studying history and anthropology in my university, and an advocate of a (self-admittedly strange) mixture of transhumanism and socialism.

I have browsed this forum as a guest for a few weeks but I recently decided to partake in the discussions. I look forward to my time here!

Welcome :)

If you have political questions, you can ask them in the Learning forum. That's why it's there after all!

If you have questions about your account, don't hesitate to send me a PM or ask here.

Welcome!

Let me ask you, what exactly is transhumanism socialism?

I can make a couple of assumptions but my mind doesn't seem to go anywhere useful .

I view the philosophies of transhumanism and socialism are capable of working together quite well. Following Marx's theory of history, in the period before full communism but during socialism, I see the dictatorship of the proletariat as providing transhumanist technologies and enhancements to the populace; as Marx said the stage of socialism would raise the living standards of humanity before shrugging off the state, I believe that moving past our biological bonds in various shapes and forms will allow us to improve the lives of all. Once we have distributed the technologies and capabilities for such technologies in society, such evolved beings will have no need for the state anymore, leading to the withering of the state Marx described.

Trust me, it all makes sense in my head
