I'm done with this fucking website. They can't even correctly pretend being half-assed liberals/pseudo-progressives anymore. These people are fucking morons. They had terrible politics, it was bad 2 years ago, now this is fucking crap.

Note: these links contain discrimination

http://www.reddit.com/r/JusticePorn/comments/11c6zp/male_bus_driver_uppercuts_a_girl_after_she/

Frontpaged bullshit today:

Fuck these morons. And yes, fuck the pseudo-radical sections of Reddit too. /r/anarchism is crap, /r/communism is crap, /r/socialism is crap, whatever else is crap. Now this is more an issue of politics than of discrimination. Except with the /r/communism tankies.

... You're only now figuring out that Reddit is crap?

Almost as bad as youtube comments. Almost.

I haven't enjoyed (at all) going to Reddit in years, but I have this compulsion of randomly going to it often (then looking for 5 seconds and closing it) which doesn't go away. I barely even look at what is said there.

I browse the front page every once in a while and yeah it is a really bad collection of people. The sites obsession with video games, the space program and single fathers really makes it clear who its intended for anyhow though.

It's not a bad thing to know your enemy & how your enemy thinks. You should go there & tell them exactly what you think about them as well just for those very reasons.

Stereotype much?

Since when does being a single father and having an interest in video games and NASA imply that you are sexist/classist?

With the single father comment, I think they're referring to the MRA/Red Pill losers who whine about women not being second class citizens.

I don't care what he is referring to. I care about the connection being made that, "Oh yea single fathers, fuck those MRA pigs." Basically the connection I was seeing being made.

Why not just say, the website attracts people who are sexist.

I think you're jumping to conclusions. The sites obsession with single fathers is caked with layers of mra bullshit, but why would that imply any hostility on my part toward single fathers in general?

1st- Not the type of thing we should be celebrating, it is put in a very bourgeois tone, but then, the coatmaker effectively did a good thing.
2nd- Many males get frustrated that women are considered innocent while they, being human beings, are just as idiotic as any other gender.
3d and 4th- A website with a big male population and liberal females who appreciate female beauty shows big interest towards three women's beauty. "Mmm" and "Yes please" are terms that should be avoided in public, as they are very male-centered, but when a heterosexual admires a woman's body, it is normal that he acts in a primal form. I've seen many women freak out over a guy's beauty, how is that so different (other than most males responding in a hypocritical backlash when a group of females devotes attention to male beauty (but then, don't many feminists do the same?))

It annoys me when the far left throws the middle class into the same bag as the haute bourgeoisie, why is it that if we want a world where we want Humanity to be sisters and brothers we must learn to hate?

The implication that caring too much about single fathers is somehow an indication that it's directed at MRA loons is a bit hostile.

r/anarchism is alright most of the time, or was. I only read its links every now and then, there might be a different crew running the show than there was a year or so ago when I was actually involved with the community.

r/woodworking and r/cinemagraphs are pretty cool subreddits. when you steer clear of politics (lots of reactionaries, as you've found out) or science (lots of reactionaries misusing science), a lot of other reddit is pretty cool. also, subreddits that are associated with some tv shows i watch can be good conversation.

it is not inherently sexist to support single fathers but guess what, there's a reason it is 'single fathers' and not 'single parents' even though the vast majority (about 90% last i checked) of single parents are women. because it is part of the MRA "what about the men" shit even though in reality our societal view of a single father is much higher than that of the stereotypical single mother. even though she, statistically, is much more likely to be working for minimum wage or otherwise be impoverished. although we also blame the poor for their poverty, and also shit on women to begin with, so i guess it shouldn't be surprising to anyone to hear that single mothers get treated like shit. and we haven't even gotten to skin color yet!

Reddit users have surpassed themselves when this new trend started in which someone posts a thread (which lands in the front page) with pictures of their dead family member like: "I miss her" and then everyone in the comments goes like "Damn your mom was hot, sorry she passed away" (even if it was just yesterday that she died). On the other hand, it might be a real possibility that the thread-starters are posting obviously sexualized pictures of their family members in order to gain Internet points and attention. This is disgusting.

Speaking of /r/communism tankies and their politics... Believe it or not, this is what "communists" on reddit approve as a "debunking anticommunism masterpost":

reddit.com/r/communism/comments/2pwxm5/the_debunking_anticommunism_masterpost/ What the shit, Grover fucking Furr (As shit as Kruschev is for obvious reasons and hypocrisy, why the hell did it have to take as long as it took, Stalin's death, for random citizenry and veteran activists in the burials of firing ranges or even still living in the gulags to be rehabilitated? Am I going to get a huge snippet now from a Brezhnev era progress publishers book on how Stalin was incapable of doing almost anything about it for no reason at all, and it was probably a good thing after all since some totally "fascist dog" moron like Zinoviev died since Stalin didn't like him?)? The post is hardly about anything at all but irrelevant Marxist-Leninist gospel-apologia for their worthless statist pipedreams. It's purely about Stalin (the Getty book is a rather curious addition as it certainly says something about the nature of the Stalinist Soviet state in its murderous/suicidal prime. Of course, we don't have to believe that Stalin personally ate the first born of every central committee member to object what MLism proposes or what happens in its practice, that is obviously never what happens in the slightest yet it's the most common meme that mostly unsophisticated Internet Stalinists will resort to, my experience, at least, to pointlessly ridicule the most miniscule "criticism" and questioning of the period of Soviet rule as absurd) and other Stalinoids and states (We have to defend the socialist North Korea on reddit for communism, comrades! -for fucks sake, that is its actual embarrassing purpose).

More on topic, on the bright side I haven't seen, or so I've had the luck of not seeing, toxic BS from the tankies.

As shit as Kruschev is for obvious reasons and hypocrisy, why the hell did it have to take as long as it took, Stalin's death, for random citizenry and veteran activists in the burials of firing ranges or even still living in the gulags to be rehabilitated? Am I going to get a huge snippet now from a Brezhnev era progress publishers book on how Stalin was incapable of doing almost anything about it for no reason at all, and it was probably a good thing after all since some totally "fascist dog" moron like Zinoviev died since Stalin didn't like him?)?As far as I know /r/communism is basically Maoist in orientation, so I doubt they would care to cite books from the Soviet revisionist period which, far from claiming Stalin was "incapable" of rehabilitating those justly shot, denounce him for not having done so despite being fully capable and for supposedly having "violated socialist legality" by having them arrested and/or shot in first place.

As Hoxha noted, the Soviet revisionists, as part of their efforts to restore capitalism, promoted the cult of the military, Pan-Slavism, and other reactionary cultural policies as well. This can explain the rehabilitation of the fascist Tukhachevsky. There were spirited efforts in the 50s-60s to get Bukharin and Rykov rehabilitated among other right-wingers. The revisionists used the issue of those who were indeed innocent being imprisoned or shot to justify the rehabilitation of those whose arrest and execution were justified.

To quote two sources on the positions of the Soviet revisionists (one "anti-Stalinist," the other forthrightly anti-communist):

"In a meeting with Rykov's daughter, Mikoyan replied to her question about the rehabilitation of her father: 'This is a political question. It is one we will decide, not the prosecutor. He, of course, never betrayed anyone and did not sell out... If he had held out at the time, then he would be working now.'"
(Rogovin, Vadim Z. Stalin's Terror of 1937-1938: Political Genocide in the USSR. Oak Park, MI: Mehring Books. 2009. p. 120.)

"In the meanwhile, one particular rehabilitation , more than any other, has implicitly put in doubt the legal foundation of the Moscow Trials. This was the rehabilitation of the former First Secretary of the Uzbek Communist Party, Akmal Ikramov, one of the accused in the Bukharin-Rykov trial... Vishinsky charged Bukharin with having established contact with the British intelligence service through Ikramov, who testified to that effect during the trial.

... Only in a private conversation has Mikoyan come close to admitting that the trials were frame-ups. Asked by Mr. Louis Fischer whether he really believed that Bukharin had been a wrecker and a spy, Mikoyan answered: 'No, I don't.'"
(Labetz, Leopold. "Resurrection—and Perdition." [I]Problems of Communism. Vol. 12. No. 2 (March-April 1963) p. 54.)

Most of the large forums on the Internet look like this, which is why I appreciate Revleft because it is one of the few places online where people can have decent conversations without the constant reactionary nonsense that you find on YouTube or Reddit. I chalk it up to middle-class or wealthier, young, white men being overrepresented on the Internet, which also helps explain the great popularity of libertarianism on the Net versus the real world.

I only visited /r/communism a few times. I think soviet-empire.com is a much better site if you are interested in the historical Marxist-Leninist states.

The space program

Why the fuck would you not be obsessed with the space program? Ten years ago, nobody would've believed that you could land something on a comet. A moving, travelling comet

TBH I've spent a lot of time just browsing reddit and it took maybe a little over a year till I finally combed my front page to not be completely disgusting. It became a time waster. But now the site is just over flowing with hate. Just because there are a few nice subs on that site still doesn't change that it's sitting in a shit filled toilet.

Single fathers? I think their Alexa rank is top 25. Seems to me they would have a fairly diverse set of users. Not really defending it because I don't go there. Glanced at it a few times and it seems to be a lot of clutter.
