Hello Everyone,
I was not sure if this belonged in the History section or Learning so I took a guess ;)
To get straight to the gist of things;
1) What are people's opinions of the NEP program?
2) Does anyone have any good sources for it's success/failure and reasoning for being phased out?
To my scant knowledge on this I understood it as a way to get the USSR (I'll label it as that for ease) "up to speed" economically and recover. I also understood it was by a great success, at least in agriculture. It was later scrapped under Stalin, as he supposedly change his previous stance of running a more mixed economy. Again, based on my surface knowledge I would jump to the conclusion that Stalin's decision was in fact folly and the NEP should have continued, if at the very least for a bit longer.
