Victory: Facebook's bus drivers vote for a union
CREDO action
Facebook's bus drivers vote for a union!
Dear Chris,
Facebook's bus drivers vote for a union!
We did it! On Wednesday, Facebook's bus drivers voted to join a union.
On a vote of 43-28, these bus drivers who work long, grueling shifts to shuttle Facebook employees across Silicon Valley signed cards overwhelmingly in favor of representation by the Teamsters.1
This would not have happened without your activism. Thousands of CREDO Action members signed petitions to express their support of Facebook's bus drivers' wishes to form a union to ensure better pay and improve working conditions.
This victory is not only an important first step to ensure better working conditions for Facebook's bus drivers, but it could also signal a larger movement for union representation across Silicon Valley, where unions have made few inroads.
While compensation for technology sector workers continues to skyrocket, wages for service workers across the area have stagnated or even declined. This is an important milestone for service workers in the technology sector who deserve better pay and better working conditions.
We couldn't have done this without you. Thanks for everything you did to help win this fight.
