I've been getting murdered by a project at work and its starting to wind down. My boss has been hounding me for a completion date, so I finally aimed for a week longer than I actually needed, giving me some much needed slack time. needless to say its been a great week so far, been working on my resume and shit. What about the rest of you?
Obviously don't share anthing illegal or personally identifying and ruin my fun. I questioned if this really belongs in non-political, because fucking off at work is way political but whatever

Skipped a lot of shit I had to do at work two days ago/made my dad some food that wasn't on the menu as and used my employee discount to make it cost less than almost anything we make except for a kids ice cream cone.

I ate two blueberry muffins and an entire 250g bag of sugar coated fruit pastels...Which for someone who has diabetes is probably not a good idea...I didn't slip into a coma or die though, so I guess I got away with it.

I work at the Women's Center of my university, and they generally do pretty good for the community as a whole. So other than stepping outside to smoke a doobie here and there, the only thing I am trying to get away with is critiquing liberal concepts to more anarchistic or Marxian ideas on certain projects.

I got called in for a merchandizing shift the other day (generally I work as a portrait photographer and clerk). I spent most of my time just wandering around looking stunned, going to the break room to get fresh coffee, and generally being utterly useless.

I walk into work like 50 minutes late everyday. Sometimes my boss, who generally only works at our location one day a week, will call in like 15 minutes after I was supposed to start to see if I'm there (which I never am) and then send me an angry message, which I respond to with "on my way, sorry" (I have this programmed into my phone as one of those pre-set texts), at which point I typically pour my coffee and sit down to eat breakfast.
I don't really 'get away with' it, though, unfortunately.. I'm always on thin ice.
We all smoke weed on the job and get away with it, though, so at least there's that.

2-3 10min shits playing games on my phone a day.
Leave 10-20mins early everyday, traffic sucks past 4pm
Come into work 10-20mins late everyday, waking up sucks.
We don't punch a time card, I just enter my hours for the week on Friday, so as long as I am in before the morning meeting they don't care what time I come.
A lot of my assays have long down times for incubation, so I usually just dick around on my laptop in the lab.
Also if I ever work over time I always add an extra 30mins pay.

I executed an anarchist sailor.
More realistically, I "got away" with paying rent late because *cough* *cough* oh me poor lungs.
The worst thing is that I'm not even pretending to be sick. But not paying rent had nothing to do with whatever horrible respiratory infection I have.

is there a word for when you've never really done anything you're not 'supposed' to but you go through life feeling like you're going to be caught and punished 'any moment now' anyway?

I attended a catholic wedding and at the end everyone raises their right hand to inject pope power into the couple or something, but it just looks like a bunch of white people doing the Nazi salute, it really took me off guard.
I got a little too high at lunch so I've been hiding in the server closet

Oh. I've been a closet atheist for a while now and that's come to be my favorite part of church. Except my mass is racially off stereotype so it's not funny in that way, but that makes it funny in a different way. Also yes, catholics suck. Puberty was really hard. Also that one year my mom didn't let me celebrate Halloween. I had the cutest gangster costume too, and a toy tommy gun. That went to waste and I went through candy withdrawal.
Also today I slept in the car and legally got to ditch class.

I constantly feel like I'm basically scamming everyone around me into thinking I'm a much better person than I am, whether that's academically or as a suitable friend/partner.

There's some things to problematize in it for sure, but there's a reflection on anxiety here (http://www.weareplanc.org/we-are-all-very-anxious#.VGS8SVfYqJo) that is at least an interesting quick read.

I often don't go into work and nobody asks where I was and I still get paid. I'm routinely late and always leave early. I'm meant to work 30 hours a week but rarely do. I take the piss and to be honest it makes me feel bad: I can't decide if the organisation I work for contributes to the reproduction of capitalism or actually helps to improve people's lives. Probably both. It's a great job though - so laid back.

I'm skeptical of a lot of the stuff you post, but that article is actually pretty interesting and the topic is worth consideration. It's something I've thought about and talked about a lot, actually. I do disagree with the article that capitalism has largely subjugated "boredom", though...boredom is still a huge theme in society, at least it is where I live. As it is in probably every society with some kind of social stability, I'd imagine, and communists haven't really engaged with that theme in particularly interesting ways. For whatever the Situationists faults were, at least they recognized it and tried to address it in some respect.
I remember something that Alfredo Bonanno wrote, which basically said, paraphrasing, what can the communist offer someone who has their "basic needs" met, and even some things beyond their "basic needs", yet still chooses to rebel? A lot of people would write off things such as, say, sports riots or "celebratory riots" as just boneheaded stupidity, or (as was the case with some of the left-wing commentary on the 2011 UK riots) just the sad result of some people desperately flailing against real oppression in primitive ways, but I think there's some really interesting things to observe in such cases, and the traditional left-wing narratives which still revolve largely around the "misery stage" of capitalism can't really grasp them.

I jumped on my parents bed today and broke it, but I told them it just happened spontaneously. It's an old bed that they should've replaced long ago, so they believed it.

The extent of my deviance today was using my dogmatic Unionist teacher from Ireland's email address to sign up for mail updates from Sinn Fein. Just envisaging his face when he gets them is making me laugh. He'll definitely have a sense of humour failure.

I was late to work four hours yesterday.
Usually when bacon gets made I eat half of it because it's better fresh. I usually have to throw some of it away anyways because it will sit around too long so I look at it as just trying to cut down on waste. Sometimes if we're about to put cookies in the oven we'll "accidentally" break a cookie so we can eat it. Other days we just say fuck it and eat the cookies regardless.

Some weeks I really enjoy my job, being busy and getting lots done. Other weeks - the slower ones - I try to see just how little work I can get away with doing. This week is one of those latter ones. I took Monday off and yesterday all I pretty much did was half an hour of flyering. Today I think I will be spending a lot of time on forums and facebook. I'll have to spend a couple of hours photographing a workshop, which is hardly strenuous, and then I'm scott free to faff about. Because I work across several departments on different projects and my line manager is very hands-off I can get away with so much and if anyone asks me if I've done something I can just tell them I've been busy with another project and they don't know any better. It's a piss take really. :)

I've been removing the grating from the water drains on the ground at the place I work at. This is significant because crumbs, paper towels, grease, and water together make a substance that is almost as effective at closing pipes as filling a sock with cement and shoving it down a toilet seat. Almost.
BIXX
26th November 2014, 12:29
I don't even know if it'll work but it also makes my job a hell of a lot easier because the grating serves to keep the water from actually going down the drain while I clean the floors.
