I'm looking for material on the Iranian/Islamic Revolution and the more detailed the better. I'm especially interested in information about the workers movements that existed in the run-up to it, the workers councils that were formed and the eventual triumph of the counter-revolution.

Books, pamphlets, articles, anything.

I picked up "Roots of Revolution: An Interpretive History of Modern Iran" by Nikki R. Keddie recently (for free, at the local garbage dump. I find so much awesome stuff there)

I can't really recommend it since I haven't actually read it yet, but it looks like what you're after.

There is a book called Revolution and Counter Revolution in Iran by Phil Marshall that is written from a Marxist perspective. I have it but have not had a chance to read it yet. I think there are some articles by him on some website like the Socialist Worker or something.
