as you know, I'm here for the REALLY important topics, be it cartoons or dating stuff. So tell me: Are there things you're obsessed with? Do you have a higher-than-average amount of some material stuff? You know, when you tell people about it and they go like "wtf??" either in this "wow, impressive" or "you're out of your mind"-tone. Things you collect? Is collecting stamps still a thing? (that's hot :o ) If there's such stuff, how much of it do you have?
As for myself, I have a nice tea collection (about 50 different ones), although I don't drink thaaaat much tea. But I just love to have a big collection to choose from every day and I can't pass a tea store without entering it. The same goes with leisure pants (about 30). I can't wear jeans at home and I love those super comfy pants, I got some really tacky, ugly ones and I indulge in looking distasteful at home. My other two collection passions are nail polish (120) and perfume (50), can't go a single day without that. I also got a lot of books and vinyl, but I don't think it's more than other people who enjoy music and reading, so I wouldn't explicitely stress that.

I collect video games, especially classic games. Not as much as I used to, but I do. I hope to start again soon. But the collector's itch can get expensive after a while, and I've got more important things to buy in the mean time. So it might be a bit, until I can start really collecting again. I've got a very modest collection of games. A lotta Sega stuff really, but a fair mix of various things.

- Frustrations.
- Key rings, though it's been years since I last checked it, I used to have about 160 of them.
- Football jerseys, mainly from the team I used to support.

Pretty much this.
I suppose I have a lot of books (probably somewhere around 150-200), but I've never looked at it as a collection. I guess I have quite a few guitars too (5), since every penny I managed to save in highschool went to buying new ones. I also have 3 Miami Dolphins jerseys, so I guess thats a collection too.

I have inadvertently become a collector of weapons. Got like 4 machetes, 8 or 9 proper swords, a couple dozen pocket knives, half a dozen guns, a grenade, some old powder horns, all sorts of shit like that. I'm sure I'm missing a few things but I can't be bothered to go look at it. I actually think collecting shit is sort of weird and I can't stand crowded living space, but it's sort of nice that many have been gifts because I remember the person who gave it to me like a sort of memento.

An incomplete collection of Japanese swords and daggers.
I used to own a War Planets toy collection, but that was lost due to someone who probably thinks I've forgiven them. I have not.
Everything written by Borges, that bourgie bastard.

no stamp collections? Don't you know anyone who collects stamps? When I was young, this was a rather widespread hobby.

My mother, actually. That, badges and napkins.

I guess my bandshirts count as an collection by now, not a very concious one though, i just like to support sympathetic bands and since I work in a music venue and see all shows for free and have little use for records since I almost never listen to music at home I started buying to buy a shirt everytime I see a good show for free. I also occasionally get shirt for free when I work a show.

I collect the dirty clothes that pile on my floor. Every now and again the perfectionist in me wants to restart the collection.

O wow, I was just thrown back into my childhood for a moment.
I don't understand collections. All of my items have a certain use, and I can't stand having stuff that won't be used. This lends to my apartment looking pretty bare.

Those toys were being used. :(
May the owls grow fat on the flesh of the person who threw them out. Those were some good toys - at the risk of sounding like an old man, much better than what I see, toy-wise today. Like, here's a lump of plastic shaped like a horse. Entertain yourself, peasant.

Oh man. When I get home, "entertain yourself, peasant." Is gonna become a Sig.

I have a fair number of CDs but I don't really buy them any more. I hoard out of date papers and propaganda which I can't bear to throw away. I don't really collect things, rather unconsciously accumulate them.

I prefer not having stuff. I try hard not to accumulate any unnecessary things. The idea of collecting actually baffles me if I'm honest. Doesn't your house just get full of crap? If anything I want less stuff, not more. Large book collections I understand, because they are good to refer to and you can share them, but beyond that I struggle to understand the concept of collecting.
There are some pretty interesting studies on the psychology of collecting. Particularly the line between collecting and hoarding, and the motivations for doing it.

I would definitely like to have less stuff, but I find it so hard to throw things away. Who knows when it may come in useful again?

I have a lot of books but apart from those I generally don't like having a lot of useless things. I used to have a lot of different kinds of tea but as I now mostly only drink loose leaf I don't have a lot of it.

I would like to buy more books, but I'm cheap and just use the library. Luckily, "hoarding" was never one of my compulsive issues because that just wasn't enabled.
I suppose I've had a giant file of downloaded MP3s over the years, but I stopped adding to that when I found a ton of spyware and downloading started to feel too risky.
Aside from that, I collect random bits of useless information in my mind and obsessively try to remember them!

I have a few hundred cds, about 70 records and i have literally no idea how many books. I reckon I might be on for a couple of hundred video games too. I don't see all that as 'collecting' though, maybe apart from the records.

Shit I forgot all about my records.
Turntable has been broken for a while now. I really need to get around to fixing it. Spent so much of my money on vinyl to not be able to hear it...

I don't collect them, as much as I hoard books. Sadly I don't have too much space in my apartment. Got a few hundred back at my family's place though, stored away.

I have a bit of a band shirt collection. And some hoodies. But don't know where some are. Probs lost. Not quite as important as they once were. I also have quite a video game collection at the moment, first time in many years. A bunch of books. Basketball cards when I was a kid.
Ideally prefer not to be held to possessions, but I do hoard sometimes. Depends on my living arrangement amongst other stuff. When I've lived near charity shops, I would raid their dumpsters, etc, alot and bring back heaps of good and useless shit. Though I would get teased for all the shit I had, funnily enough, if my friends needed something, I would ususally have it. Yet... they sometimes would lose it, and wouldn't understand why I'm angry. One, I'm angry you broke my trust and lost something of mine, but also, me hoarding is like a library, you lose a book, you can't borrow any more. Even though some hoard things that will never be useful, I've found a decent amount of what I hoard is useful to me, and often useful to my friends who refuse to have my foresight...
