Welcome :)
If you have political questions, you can ask them in the Learning forum. That's why it's there after all!
If you have questions about your account, don't hesitate to send me a PM or ask here.
Given your username, I take it that you find yourself comfortable with 'orthodox' Marxism? ;) Love the avatar.

To my great embarrassment, I didn't realise "yok" was Ottoman Turkish. I know Lingua Franca had a smiliar form, "ioc", so I always sort of assumed the Serbocroatian "jok" was descended from the pidgin language. But yeah, this makes much more sense.
Here "jok" is used in informal speech, perhaps more commonly by older people, although not to the extent that it is used in Bosnia.

Tbh, my politics is quite different from what most of the people would consider as "orthodox Marxism". I believe that every era has it's politics and that one shouldn't use Marxism as set of rules but as historical analysis. So, for example I'm anti-parliamentarian, anti-national liberation and anti-union. On the other hand, I enjoy reading authors that come out from British CPGB (especially Macnair and Lars) and recently I've started to read more and more of K. Kautsky which I find to be forgotten and yet so important for us today.

I'm learning English since kindergarten... :P

Yeah "yok" is from Turkish. I didn't know it myself until my family started to watch Turkish soap-operas and then there was this lady screaming "yok, yok, yok" because a peasant did something wrong to her or whatever ;D

Yeah, we speak like peasants. Especially the diaspora has this hilariously stupid-sounding seljak-dialect, as if they're trying to compensate for their lack of identity or whatever
