I sincerely doubt it. There are few ideas so ridiculous you won't find someone on RevLeft espousing them. (Much like there are virtually no atrocities committed by self-proclaimed 'Socialists', 'Marxists', etc., that are so horrible that five, or six posters won't immediately rise to their defense.) Anyone who took this assclown seriously probably just isn't susceptible to things like facts, or logic. (Which is also a common condition around these parts.)

It's not even his questionable embrace of politics that troubles me; I'm not one to talk given that, until recently, I was a very vocal supporter of north Korea. (My opinion of it and the Kims are more akin, now, to my opinion of, say, Saddam Hussein or something... godawful, but the U.S. is in no position to judge or "free" anyone.)

He really is a bona fide tankie. Not just in his ridiculous fetishism for the "communist" aesthetic (Mao suits, Castro hats, Soviet uniforms, etc.), but his inability to apply Marxism as a methodology. He's an "answers in the back of the book" communist -- he may get some issues right (although, in this specific instance, I can't think of any he has gotten right), but he has no idea how to get to the right answers on his own. That's why he's such a sexist and heteronormative dunce.

It really takes the cake that this priveleged-ass white kid would embrace Third Worldism.

Please don't. I talked to him and watch his videos when I can. He is pretty good at reporting news and I agree with him most of the time (I'm a Maoist who likes Juche and the DPRK too). The only thing I don't like about him is that he downloads shubel morgans videos and uploads them without giving credit. But, he is the best alternative I know for the news and I recommend him to any comrade or non-comrade.

I'll say this for your own good, but I think you find him as impressive as you do because you're relatively young and inexperienced.

Unruhe is a buffoon, really. His dressing up is in poor taste, yes, but his analyses have little substance. You can find more in-depth consideration of the same issues he tackles elsewhere, especially from Leninist perspectives. The reason I call him a "back of the book" communist is because he's getting the "answers" from people smarter, more experienced, and more diligent than he is, but when he presents them as his own, he botches them. He misunderstands the subtleties of issues and goes back to try to fill in the blanks and makes an utter mess of things, because he didn't know how to get to the "answer" on his own.

Have you tried "ML Today?" It's a Leninist journal that addresses issues in a much more substantive way, and it much less ... tacky than many "tankie" sources.

So on top of being a tankie who has a very shallow grasp on the concepts he rattles on about, he now also subscribes to the natlibist chauvinism that is a massive misreading of Lenin's idea of labor aristocracy, claiming that the first world proletariat are "net exploiters" due to the "fact" that their lives are made cushy and comfortable by the first world bourgeois states, who use the capital they gain from exploiting the third world to supplement said cushiness in order to keep the first world proletariat relatively subservient and thus they're not a revolutionary class, coming some weird form of lumpen.

There's a slight degree of truth in the premise but for the most part it's just terrible nonsense.
