I am busy with a project for school, I found the quote 'Communism is for us not a*state of affairs*which is to be established, an*IDEAL*to which reality [will] have to adjust itself. We call communism the*real*movement which abolishes the present state of things. The conditions of this movement result from the premises now in existence.'. It comes from the book Karl Marx. The German Ideology. 1845.
I need the page number but I don't have the book myself. Can someone who has the book please send me the page number? Thank you.

It will depend on the edition of the book. This would be a valid reference to that specific sentence: "Karl Marx. The German Ideology. Prometheus Books, 1976. p. 57". Found it by searching on Google Books.

Firstly, I don't have the book, but my nerdy internet skills have shown me it appears to be page 49.
Here are my sources:
http://books.google.com.au/books?id=RuzidRYDNnoC&pg=PA46&dq=Communism+is+for+us+not+a+state+of+affairs&hl=en&sa=X&ei=M4E2VJu0JJDk8AXMpYHIDQ&redir_esc=y#v=onepage&q=Communism%20is%20for%20us%20not%20a%20state%20of %20affairs&f=false
http://books.google.com.au/books?id=i11trd-kdj0C&pg=PA136&dq=Communism+is+for+us+not+a+state+of+affairs&hl=en&sa=X&ei=M4E2VJu0JJDk8AXMpYHIDQ&redir_esc=y#v=onepage&q=Communism%20is%20for%20us%20not%20a%20state%20of %20affairs&f=false
Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, The German Ideology, translated by Clemens Dutt et al, vol, 5 of Marx/Engels Collected Works (Moscow: Progress Publishers, 1975), 49.
From here:
http://books.google.com.au/books?id=H9td3zGH0bcC&pg=PA273&dq=Communism+is+for+us+not+a+state+of+affairs&hl=en&sa=X&ei=M4E2VJu0JJDk8AXMpYHIDQ&redir_esc=y#v=onepage&q=%22the%20german%20ideology%22&f=false
(page 398)
And this is where the quote is in that particular book used above:
http://books.google.com/books?id=H9td3zGH0bcC&pg=PA273&dq=Communism+is+for+us+not+a+state+of+affairs&hl=en&sa=X&ei=M4E2VJu0JJDk8AXMpYHIDQ&ved=0CDYQ6AEwBA
Hope that helps!

Yeah, I guess you can choose whichever edition of the book you want, as long you have all the relevant information for referencing it.

you don't need a book page to cite something. There's specific rules for citing online sources. It depends on what citing style/method is expected or allowed, but in my experience APA style is the most common in academics.
