Is anyone familiar with this group/journal (http://www.gegenstandpunkt.com/), or its predecessor, Marxistische Gruppe (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marxist_Group_(Germany))?

A member is visiting my city and I may have the chance to meet / discuss / etc. early next week, so I'd love to have some sense of what I'm getting into. I've read the wiki article, and a bit from their journal, but anything more (esp. personal experiences!) would be very helpful.

So, apparently their deal is this:
Since consciousness of real conditions among workers is a necessary precondition for communist revolution, what they do is analyze current events from a critical perspective, hold a lot of study groups/seminars, and publish a journal. That's it. Because anything else is pointless.

Actually, in a lot of ways they seem like the very German version of impossibilists.

Anyway, the presentation was alright - hanging out afterward was interesting.
