I am 33 years old and live in Ohio. I grew up in Texas, and became a leftist naturally, in response to the nutty neo-cons rampant throughout the state.

I was delighted, considering all of the fascist websites on the internet, to find a website online dedicated to the principles of equality by any means necessary. I have been a lurker for a while, and finally decided to join up and say hello.

I don't know anywhere near as much as I would like, but I would say that so far, the ideology that makes the most sense to me is Maoism, which is sort of the Third realm communist ideology with a healthy emphasis on national will and national unity. This is the reason for my username. Just wanted to point that our lest anyone get the wrong idea.

Thank you.

Welcome :)

If you have political questions, you can ask them in the Learning forum. That's why it's there after all!

If you have questions about your account, don't hesitate to send me a PM or ask here.

...that's not what Maoism is.

Maoism is Marxism-Leninism as developed by people like Mao, Zhang Chunqiao and Gonzalo of the PCP (and if you want to make Maoists cry, Bob Avakian). The chief ideas are the mass line, three- or two-line struggle, New Democracy, Protracted People's War etc.

Welcome!

Maoism is a very interesting tendency, at least when I think Marxism-Leninism-Maoism as distinct from Maoism (which is a separation I'm not entirely clear about, to be honest). The mass line is a very important contribution, and you see this as a trend in Kimilsungist thought as well.

I don't know near as much as I would like - and I am still learning much of it, but when I said "national will", Mass Line was the main thing I was referencing.
