I assume a believer would reply faith.

As an agnostic I would reply: Because neither side convinces me.

why not? Facts maybe?

I can see having some force inside of you driving you to believe in a higher being. However I can't see, with a response of "why not", that you can have faith in something so contradicting, and hyped up. Please give your reasoning for why you believe in a God?

Also, do you attend a church? You do realize that if you goto church, you pay money in order to believe? They tell you that you must attend church and have faith to make it to heaven. You do realize that everytime you goto church they are making money? Also if God is so forgiving, and understanding. Why will those that goto church make it to heaven, but I will not. All because I don't goto church? That is made up capitalist -**- if I have ever heard it. If God is so understanding, shouldn't he be able to understand why I don't believe?

I agree, there is a drive to believe in a god, some people take it up, others don't. I think there are many motivations for and against. So you do not follow the orders of the authoritiarian capitalist god? I would say if there is a god, this god would understand the reasonable doubt we has, as in the societies I know, god is mostly used as a tool of oppression. I wouldn't fault god for this as I would think god therefore would not fault me for doubting. Any great god however, would not suffur being exploited by capitalists well. I can only hope they get theirs, as I work toward the same goal.

We don't need anything to cling onto, living is natural!
But sometimes it is good to have a guide along the way, helping u make the right decisions, giving you purpose in life, something to strive for, and give thanks and praise for!

Why are you so obsessed with giving thanks and praise?

What is your political position by the way, I am interested.

probably: Yaah ma'an. Uhh. (takes drag) Smoki'n ma'an, no party. Smokin

No. I will not speak for him.

Rasta: Yes, what is your political party, or stance? And also please tell me exactly why/what made you believe in God. (experience, raised up that way, etc)

This could actually go for all of you that have blind faith. What exactly happened in your life that you now believe in God?

I am not obsessed with giving thanks and praise, I should be though, I am just an average sinner like the rest or yall!

I know God is real, I don't have to go to church, or pray, I have faith bro, thats all I need! ;)

I used to be into politics, I think they suck for the most part, always forcing me to be more moderate and liberal. I was a communist, but now I consider myself a universalist, alot of socialist values with an enlightened sense of global peace love and unity.

The revolution is happening now! Spiritually that is.............. can U feel it?

peace yall

This kind of idiocy has no place in a philosophy forum. The job of the philosopher is to question, faith has no place in any philosophy unless backed up somehow...

How am I a sinner, by the christian moral system? I give praise to nobody unless they deserve it.

No, what are you talking about?

Why? Because in the beginning created God! Thats why... errr.. I have a bad handle on Jewish mysticism, actualyl i Just know what it looksl ike from a distance.

Why? Why not? Because? What? Who cares? On and on and on we go around and around to where no body knows.

Merkavah

Sounds whisper through filters
Set on a broken branch
Masked behind a chorus
Of muddled frogs.

Now here is a frosted window
Marking out the shapes of a life
Of joyous tears folded
On top of sorrow.

Lines into verses
Days into years
The bitter cold is a grim scribe
Before the green chorus.

In the song of the filter
I flitter through the winds.

Taken in by the shiver
Embracing it to drain its hollowness,
That which over spills
In Orion’s unwavering arms.

Breaking through the filters
And drowning out all other songs
We chant upon a dark alter
Which no cult has defiled.

Shivers come again
And are embraced
And pass again unloved.

Words written as words are spoken
Without wards against them.

Broken pages
Stained with water’s kiss
And blotched by
The window’s fallen story
Mark out in reverse pattern
A story without wards
Nor words
Nor silent frogs
Against the wind.

Now a blossom grows
In the flowing river
Of smiling tears, ignoring the pain
From the broking filter.

That's why. Or why not. Yes.

A poem by pete holds the secrets of the universe.
