I got this off of the IWW site, so I'll put it here. I like it.

The Capitalist Pyramid: (sorry it's so big, I can't resize it, I'm at school).

What 'industry' are students a part of? I looked at the application form, and it asked what industry i'm in, but i couldn't find 'student' in the list of categories/occupations.

The IWW seems to be primarily a workers union, I don't know about the US, but here in Germany there are also anarcho-syndicalist "education syndicates" by college students, maybe the IWW is supporting some aswell...

They should definitely do so, the students are a very big honeypot of left-wing activism.

Anyways, thanks alot RC. I'm very much interested in this organization.

They allow unemployed people to join, so, since i'm technically not employed, I figured they'd let students join. I could have been wrong, though.

What 'industry' are students a part of?

Students are part of "Public Service" which is the same union you would be part of if you were a teacher.

When filling out the application You should put "IU 620" which is the public service union (where students fall under) and where it asks for department put down what your major is at school for example if you are majoring in history put historian, if you are majoring in biology put biologist, if you are majoring it anthropology put anthropology.... if you don't fall in with any of these I'd put "general education" or maybe "liberal arts."

I'm not sure about unemployed, but they can also join our union as one of our mottos is "One union, job or no job."

Also, the self employed are allowed to become members. If somene owns a small shop or something, that's ok and they can join. We have one guy who sells occult stuff.

The only people who can't join are those in charge of hiring/firing people, and police officers.

There's plenty of info on what Industry you would fit into on the main HQ website http://www.iww.org

I know that the IWW has a branch in all English speaking nations, and I'm pretty sure that most European nations have some sort of like minded union under a different name, but with some minimal ties to the IWW.
