If you have political questions, you can ask them in the Learning forum. That's why it's there after all!
If you have questions about your account, don't hesitate to send me a PM or ask her.

In a nutshel: A subsection of radical feminism that try to seperate themselves from men entirely, or as much as possible, because men (including male children) can not and will not ever have a positive contribution to women's liberation.

Seeing her location, I thought it meant she wants North Ireland to become part of the Republic of Ireland.
Welcome; I'm a communist, and also a feminist.

Well...I have no idea how she meant it. So it is entirely possible. Not sure how the lesbianism fits in that way... You have to ask her.
But Lesbian Seperatism is actually that concept of women's seperation from men socially, politically, economically and sexually.

oh, how nice. I thought "lesbian separatist" was somehow different from feminist separatists...

Actually we mostly shout obscenities at each other.
I didn't know anyone still considered themselves a Lollard. You learn something every day I guess.

yeah actually I've heard that a few times when I've mentioned lesbian separatism to friends in the States - they assumed it had something to do with Ireland. I've never heard separatism used that way in this country. But yeah I mean, I of course oppose the British occupation of Ireand, so yr right abt that even if that's not what I meant :P (I actually do live in the North, too)
thank you! It's a pleasure to meet you :)

It doens't really, but I know a few who call themselves lollards. I'm kind of joking, though (in my country, when discussing your politics you'll usually say if you're Catholic or Protestant, so I tongue-in-cheek am saying Lollard :P - I guess it doesn't carry over well outside the six counties lololol)

in another introduction thread I saw someone saying that they believe in the mass execution of clergy, perhaps there is more lollardy than we thought

why would it be a "pleasure" if it's possibly a man you're meeting on here? Is the internet some kind of magic exception? I really don't get you female separatists at all --and it's not only because you people tend to be some of the most vicious m2f transphobes I've ever come across.

I have one question for you: if you had one shot, or one opportunity
To seize everything you ever wanted. one moment
Would you capture it or just let it slip?

I'm being polite! I do not engage in violent struggle every time I should meet a man on the street :P I just acknowledge the class conflict between us, and do not organize with them. I do not organize with the bourgeoisie in the same way, but I do thank the shopkeeper when buying milk & eggs from the local :laugh:.
And okay - I actually didn't want to out myself right now, but since you have pressed the issue, I am actually a trans woman. (Unless you aren't actually accusing me of transmisogyny and are calling me a transphobe who is mtf :laugh::laugh:) - the transmisogyny I have faced is a large part of what motivates me towards lesbian separatism. But that's very personal, and I would have my privacy.

Sure. We must see separatism as a kind of broad category of a refusal. I am a class separatist - I do not organize with the bourgeoisie under a common cause, because we have no common cause! Our interests are in conflict. As they say, "the working class and the employing class have nothing in common." I acknowledge that a similar class conflict exists between men and women.
Though there is much to discuss, in short, I refuse to do the labour that men usually put on women, as much as I can (I am referring to emotional, social and domestic labour, here) - and instead, pour those energies towards other lesbians. My separatism is as simple as this :)

how can you say workers have no common cause with the bourgeoisie and then say women have no common cause with men?
last time I checked, working class is formed by men and women.

She probably means on the basis of gender, rather than class...

sex separatism is not essentially different from racist or religious separatism. such views and feelings can't exists together with scientific socialism and proletarian morality in one person.

So, if I understand correctly, your separatism is born of practicality, because you're a lesbian, and not a matter of principle that you think all women should adopt?

Feminist separatism is thus analogous to workerism, and should therefore be dismissed on the same basis.
