I guess that I could say I'm new to the entire revolución thing, and therefore, there are some things I've not grown to know yet but I'll get there someday (step by step). What I'd like to know is, how should a supporter or Che &/or Zapata and the revolution see Trujillo (ex-President and "dictator" of the Dominican Republic) considering he also was what many would call a "revolutionary"? Does it depend on the individual? Was Trujillo actually a VILE creature (as many Dominicans would say) or was he not really that bad at all? I really don't know much about him, there is barely any detail in the literature I've read... Give me some links if you have any! ** *

You know Batista right, former dictator of Cuba? The evil man who was defeated by the revolution conducted by Che and Castro? Batista of course with the police-death squads, missing citizens, everyday opressive regime, etc. Well from what I understand this Trujillo fellow made Batista and the rest of the Carribean dictators look like a fucking choirboys. So I suppose pure evil would just about cover this bastard. And I mean that in a very serious way.

Well, I personally got the impression that he was a pretty asshole-esque type of guy simply because of what he did to Hatians who were caught in the Dominican Republic. In a movie I saw, it was said that Trujillo stated that the Hatians were basically trying to taint the blood of Dominicans or something and he'd often have Hatians killed. AND, a young Dominican man I know said that Trujillo impregnated all of the women in his town. That's pretty bad. He did say that economically and *technologically*, Trujillo created many advancements in the society. Outside of those things about the Hatians & the impregnation (which are not great AT ALL), I really didn't know anything about his ideologies or anything.

I think we should start referring to General Trujillo as the Carribean Hitler. Makes sense to me since that's exactly what he was.
