Any Tom Waits fans on the board?
I just recently started listening to him seriously, and I have to admit that I absolutely love his voice. It's really harsh and gravelly, but also really soulful and full of heart.
"Jersey Girl" is a really good example of this...

And of course, there's the song that Rod Stewart absolutely ruined...

I first heard TW at a concert in Berkley, CA 1977. I was in the USAF and went with some mates. It was a great show and i've been a fan ever since.

Rain Dogs and Bone Machine are my favourites.
Was thinking of this one today -- love the line, "We're all making feet for children's shoes." Just discovered this video, pretty cool.

Love Tom Waits. His music (along with booze) got me through some really dark times.

Tom Waits will be dead in my lifetime but in the meantime I really love his music. <3
I've "appropriated" his whole discography, that's how big of a fan I am.

I'm a big fan. I especially love his Blood Money, Rain Dogs, Mule Variations, and Bad as Me albums. I most prefer his rowdier music, though he's done some great slower stuff as well.
By the way, here's a rather leftist song of his, and one of my favorites, a cover of "What Keeps a Man Alive" by the Tenpenny Opera:
