What's there to do in Strasbourg, Zurich and Frankfurt? I'm doing a little travelling next week to these places and thought I'd ask.

I'm not entirely sure, but I think there is information about this on Google. I'm not sure if there is though. You'd have to Google.

Also there is nothing to do in any of these places.

It turns out Google (https://www.google.co.uk/search?sourceid=chrome-psyapi2&ion=1&espv=&ie=UTF-8&q=things%20to%20do%20in%20frankfurt) does actually have some information. It's not very much information, but it might be a good place to start.

I think it's a little ridiculous that you just assume we all have access to google. I assume he's looking for non-touristy bullshit which is probably not what you would find on this luxury site you're so enamored with.

You misspelled enamoured. And you know what they say about people who assume...

My phone doesn't really play well with the forum code, I'm actually kinda self conscious about the quality of my posts on this site as a result. Can we change the subject?

So I hear Hodor will not be in the new season of Game of Thrones. Neither will Bran.

Sorry the only other country I've ever been to was Canada. Want to go to Canada?

When I go to Zurich I'm going to eat chocolate, look at cuckoo clocks and use a Swiss army knife to kill a banker. Pretty much my week sorted.

Dude. Can I come?
If this is a serious question then yes. If it's a jokey one then no.

Well - if you want to eat chocolate I would recommend Bern. Zurich used to have a really good bakery at the railway station, but it's been quite some time since I've been there, so the bakery might have closed and all of its owners died of old age, I don't know.
I really can't point to anything specific you wouldn't be able to find in tourist guides - all I can say is that Cabaret Voltaire is pretty crushingly disappointing.

I've only been to the airports in Zürich and Frankfurt (the latter is hellishly boring and maze-like, an architectural nightmare), as well as the train station in Zürich. I've only been there a few hours at the most, so I can't help you at all. Why don't you get hold of some travel books?

I'm literally going tomorrow. I've already got some stuff planned and I'm staying with people I know in Strasbourg who're going to show me around etc but I was just basically wondering if any folks had visited/lived there before and could suggest something cool that I might otherwise miss out on. :)

I'm not sure if I missed you seeing this topic again or not. But go see where Lenin lived in Zurich, when he was in exile. That's what I would do, if I were to go there.

I am sure it would be the highlight of the trip:

Pardon me for trying to give them a useful answer. If they're already gonna be there, it might be worth seeing. Just to say that you've seen it. If I was already going to Zurich, I'd certainly go.

I've finally got the pictures for my holiday and there's one that's kinda cool that I'll post up and it gives me an excuse to give you a little recap of my travels.
Strasbourg is beautiful but the immediate thing I noticed was the huge number of rough sleepers and beggars. I guess where I come from, Plymouth, is quite a poor working class shithole of a city with a relatively large number of rough sleepers I just assumed Strasbourg, with its obvious wealth and beauty, would be a little different but instead it was a striking contrast and quite demoralising. I spent the most time in Strasbourg with the family of my sister's boyfriend and they were super nice to me. I drank shit loads of wine, ate the Alsace version of sauerkraut and they even got us escargot which was surprisingly tasty (although they basically said, as I assumed, that French people only very rarely eat snails, it was still a little awesome to pander to the child in me). I had a great time here.
We then went to Zurich but only stayed for one day as we figured we'd save money by travelling soon after to Frankfurt to save some money as Zurich was really expensive. Beautiful city though.
On the journey to Frankfurt an old man complained about another passenger (even though said passenger had been quiet the whole journey) presumably because the passenger was black. The staff questioned him in several languages and asked for photo identification, despite the passenger showing them his ticket that he had bought, but the passenger didn't understand them. They then proceeded to stop at an unmanned station and kick the man off. It was fucking surreal and frankly ridiculous. If I'd been in England I would have spoken up but I didn't have the confidence to say anything in German. It was fucking shit to watch.
Frankfurt was pretty cool. On my first day I randomly bumped into some Chinese dude in Frankfurt for a conference and then the two of us went about the place doing all the touristy stuff which was pretty fun. I ate sausages and drank beer for lunch, splashing out a little with my cash for a treat. I also found the Occupy Frankfurt, which is currently composed of several white tarpaulins that locals/visitors write on and I did this:

I've got a rough plan to do a real month or two worth of travelling next summer so this was sort of a cool taster of that. I need to get a better job thought cos at the mo I'm totally broke. I couldn't have afforded to go if I hadn't had the opportunity to stay at my sister's boyfriends' place. Would recommend all these cities. :)
