i just read a great book called the dirt of civilization. It really woke me up to the problem of soil erosion -- capitalism completely abuses the soil and currently risks destroying most of it worldwide. I think that this is actually a greater threat to our future than global warming -- and i am really really scared of global warming. Anyway, I think activists need to start addressing this problem.
The modern problem of soil erosion is directly related to the expropriation of the peasantry which is going on in the neocolonial world especially since ww2. so it is very easy to work into a critique of capitalist agriculture. discussion? does anyone know any groups already pushing this issue?
