View Full Version : A Word from a Marxist-Leninist

Hi all! TBH, I ran across this thread when I googled a quote from a Facebook friend: "Leon Trotsky is the Holden Caulfield of Marxism." There is a member of this forum called Holden Caulfield, so it led me here.

I am (currently) a 46 year-old Marxist-Leninist in the United States and have 22 years as a practicing Communist (see Lenin's "One Step Forward, Two Steps Back" for his criteria for fulltime professional revolutionary)

I have not had to work a salaried job in those 22 years, and through the organizations of workers, et al, I have been able to be a revolutionary 24 hours a day, 7 days a week... Completely supported by the folks I serve.

I have much to teach, but as always, much to learn. We are always learning... Until we die.

Hello there. So you don't have to work for a wage - lucky duck. If you have any questions ask Q. You could ask me as well but I don't want Q to put a bounty on my head.

Not so much luck as a lot of organizing. The tradition goes back to the old farm worker organizing days of 1958 to 1971 in the US. People who support the mass organizations I work with understand our commitment, and provide food, clothes, housing and other resources.

I am reminded of Lao-Tze: "find something you love and you'll never have to work a day in your life.

What would you say has been accomplished in your 22 years as a professional revolutionary?

Materially, the main accomplishments have been that we have established organizations in various locales and have recruited cadres to operate the organizations (these are mass organizations, mind you, all-volunteer, open-ended worker groups). We have also established ourselves in some places as the first on the scene in a disaster, like earthquakes and floods, to provide immediate needs, and therefore have a position from which to fight the US Feds for their malfeasance.

Our international ties of material assistance and solidarity have also grown stronger, with Venezuelan, Cuban, Chinese and South African government officials and the people, as well as progressive elements in Honduras and Colombia and Ecuador.

For starters. The world is waking up and shaking off the old colonial and imperial fetters. It's very encouraging.

so you are in solidarity and have ties with gouverments/states that are major imperialist powers(china) and who massacre striking workers(south africa)? how can you justify this with your supposed communistic belives?

Prove to me that China is an "imperialist power." Define your argument, please.

Prove to me how one mishandled strike (brought about by enemy agitation, btw) makes South Africa a state who "massacres striking workers."

Just because South Africa does not have a CP in power does not mean it is an anti-worker state. To defeat the real class enemy, you have to form a broad united front against international monopoly capital.

I say "Until your revolution at home has won, best not to shit on someone else's revolution."

Edit: also, I would appreciate NOT calling my politics into question. Nobody gets to decide what I am but me, and I do not assign motivation to members of this forum. I do not think it befits anyone to do so. Thank you.
