You happen to find yourself in a very conservative post-Soviet country, with almost no progressive organizations, with no labour unions whatsoever, no progressive political parties, widespread nationalism etc.

In terms of political work, what should one do? I have some basic ideas for the beginning, but I would like to hear what you think would be the best course of action or what you have done in a similar situation.

Do you know anyone at least sympathetic to/interested in revolutionary theory? If you're able to gather a group of, idk, three people you could start a reading group to set your ideas straight and eventually be active (what you can do, what is possible to do etc).

I don't know if you work either.

What are the basic contradictions in your country? What economic and political issues are people talking about? Talk to people, first, gather data and use that data to make an analysis. If you are in a post-Soviet country,

If you have previous organizing experience, what is it? Find others like you. What have they tried.

In the US, I work with organizations who started by organizing farm workers. They were the poorest and no one else was doing it.
