Cuz if you get purged you get sent to RL's bi-annual hunger games where the odds are forever not in your favor. Most people are trying to avoid that vis a vis prickery.

I think it's ridiculous that DNZ has been un-restricted. Shows that power dynamics always have the upper hand over genuine revolutionary zeal, which the user in question has always found wanting when push comes to shove.

I think it's pretty silly within the time frame of a week or so that the BA voted to restrict someone, then voted to unrestrict them. I mean how do people change their mind so quick?

For the record I don't agree with DNZ's politics at all and kinda consider him some sort of proto-stalinist; most of the time I have no idea what he's on about. Having said that, the charge of being both a reformist and a third positionist doesn't even make any sense.

Who is Khad? You forgot Luís Henrique.

I tend to agree with the trots more than the stalinites, and the stalinites more than the Bordigists, but it depends on the Bordigist entirely.

Die Neue Zeit helped me a bit with my first marketing class by sending me a few links and the basics, also him being a third positionist makes no sense

Yes, but these days their job is just ban spambots and whoever disagrees with Ismail.I must say I am enjoying my job as Secret Ruler of RevLeft.

To stay on topic, there are a bunch of users who have contributed to RevLeft in some way. Prairie Fire, Red Commissar, Grenzer, Intelligitimate, Slavyanski, milk, etc., but the majority do not post anymore or were banned (presumably before I was able to consolidate control as Secret Ruler to prevent this.) To me what's important are users who bring new things to the table, not via posing as theoretical masterminds but simply by genuinely contributing to discussions, by bringing up new books and articles, sharing what knowledge and materials they have, etc.

Case in point: http://www.revleft.com/vb/fewer-outsiders-better-t124508/index.html

Intelligitimate obtained an article that wasn't online, manually typed it up, and posted it on RevLeft before anywhere else. To this day it's only available on this forum... and a Chinese site as of May, but it links to the RevLeft thread.

So "Soviet romanticism ... anti-westernism and f**k the rich idiocy" are bad things? Oh dear! I have just lost about 80% of my politics!

My years as an undergraduate were consumed by Soviet romanticism – at least the Russians weren't the ones carpet-bombing Vietnam, unlike the country of my birth; and it was the Russians who helped Cuba survive the cruel embargo imposed by imperialism. As I became aware of what the imperial power of the US and UK (among others) means in terms of suffering in the Third World, that greatly strengthened my attraction to the left, and the older I get, as a retired worker, the more deeply I feel that tucking it to the rich royally is the way to go.

oh hey you're one of my other favorite grump-posters, kind of. you're not especially grumpy but you always seem extremely unimpressed with every other poster in any thread you are in.
My whole life, I've had random people who I've never even spoken to (but who I've seen around) approach me and ask me why I don't like them (or, more commonly, I hear through the grapevine that so-and-so thinks I hate them). It's even worse in person because I suffer from a poorly-understood medical condition (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3v98CPXNiSk). If you actually talk to me in person, though, I'm not like that, but apparently it's the first impression I give everyone. It used to bother me, but now I'm actually pretty content with it haha.

I like that. I feel that way from the inside, but people tell me I'm a sunshine. I need more outer grumpiness.

I also like that Khad is in a permanent bad mood, its always clear in the OP that he is already upset about whatever response you might have in mind

i don't know enough of you nearly enough to really have a personal opinion on anyone, i can distinguish between posters I agree with and don't agree with and posters who are good at saying what they do and those who aren't. I suppose if I cared enough i could make a compass

I feel that a lot of users hate me. I think rednoise does.

I like TAT, Mari3L, and a few others. But you know who really pisses me off?

Basically every Marxist. Seriously dude.

I like rugged collectivist. He's not the most noticeable one, but he seems laid-back and funny, in a discreet way. I feel this is the wrong vocab, I would say it differently in German, but he knows what I mean.

Thanks. I value your contributions to the forum, despite our many political differences. You're one of those people I never skip over.
