Heard a lot about the now-defunct Maoist Internationalist Movement, but they seem to have an active group now called MIM Prisons.

Is their work with prisoners legit? Do you view them any differently than the original MIM?

I don't know the specifics, but I remember MIM-talk of "captive nation". Besides the ridicule of the method (should we now have Dative Nations, Factive Nations, etc. so that every consonant has its own national-liberation issue?), this only highlights their complete inability to understand what a "nation" is. If they are doing prison political work on the basis of "national liberation", their efforts will be at best lost. At worst, of course, they will help prompt the organisation of criminal networks within prisons and jails.

Practice is another thing. However they also consider much of the south and southwest as Aztlan and New Afrika.

AFAIK they deny the very existence of a White proletariat with revolutionary potential in North "AmeriKKKa", only the white lumpen-proletariat, with the rest reactionary. What better place to find the white lumpen-proletariat and oppressed "nations" than prison?

Outright fascist do prison work. Perhaps they want to counter them?
