So if you haven't heard already, there was an open carry rally held in Dallas, TX a couple of days ago. The difference is that this time it was made up entirely of African Americans.

They call themselves the Huey P. Newton gun club. They formed after the series of shootings by police of unarmed black men and women, including Michael Brown.

There's a couple of things I love about this.

First off, I'm glad that the spirit of the Panthers is beginning to manifest again in the black community. My only (possibly unfounded) reservation is that this group may be somehow affiliated with the racist anti-Semitic chuckleheads who call themselves the 'New' Black Panther Party.

Second, the very idea of this group existing must send several 'pro-gun' right wingers into a conniption fit. Even Saint Ronnie was willing to go against the whole second amendment spiel when the Panthers marched into the Governor's office (fully armed, I might add), to protest a gun control bill that then Governor Reagan was going to sign.

The idea of self-determination for black people really drives all the right people crazy.

I love Huey P. Newton he is a great inspiration for second class people and for socialist in general. I truly hope though that these guys aren't from the New Black Panther Party, because they are a awful segregationists, who cooperate with Neo-Nazis.

Of course it drives conservative gun rights people crazy because by and large a black man having a gun is taboo. It may seem crazy to say this in 2014 but it's totally true. I am fairly confident this a documented phenomena. For example, this picture is totally fine:

However, pictures similar to the one below are commonly thrown out by conservatives as being evidences of thuggery and crime:

This has been seen both in the Martin and Brown incidents. It's some racist shit. I think this is really neat and I would really like more radical gun rights orgs to come out of the woodwork. I could def get down on that.

I've heard folks say that the Huey p newton gun club is not actually affiliated with the new black panther party, apparently that's some shit from Fox News that caught traction.

Huey Newton is real cool, he is one of the renegades of funk, of the video of Rage Against The Machine. Black people, black culture are cool, I just hope that not only blacks, but poor whites, poor hispanics, and all poor low-income people support this revolutionary group, because we have to be realists and many people today are too mainstream, even with all leftist music bands that have videos on MTV, VH1 and with mainstream movie stars defending socialism like Oliver Stone and Danny Glover, many poor americans are too reluctant to support revolutionary groups. Maybe because they work for right-wing reactionary corporations like Verizon, Shell and Wal Mart and they don't wanna lose their jobrs or something like that

You're missing the point entirely of the Huey P. Newton Gun Club, and also I don't think it has much to do with who they work for but their socialization. A communist won't be a not-communist because they are afraid to lose their job. It's not like there is a secret communist hidden in poor folks. It's that we are socialized in a society that actively discourages communism.

You are right about the socialization of workers, and I think that another requirement for poor people in America to get more motivated toward supporting revolutionary groups is a deeper economic crisis, an objective revolutionary situation. But we will have to wait a little bit more like around 2016-2020 earlier or later than that when the prices of all basic goods and services will get more expensive, while incomes of most people stay about the same

This reminds me of something I once said... I'll tell you what I was told then. That train of thought doesn't go anywhere good. It tends to lead people to use "radical" logic to support reactionary trash.

based on his grammar, word choice, and the placement of quotes at the end of his posts, I'm pretty sure "ultraleftist" is our old friend Trotskistmarx, who has reappeared on this forum under numerous monikers.

He's either perpetually new to revolutionary thought, or a CIA plant who can't figure out how being "under cover" works.

This line on the economy happens to be bullshit and unsupportable -- the de-nationalization of the U.S. economy that happened in the '70s was a one-off historical event, and those conditions of stagflation were unique. I see no reason to think that the same economic result could happen again, despite the oft-shrieked cries over an ever-imminent "hyperinflation".

These days there's massive *overproduction* and *deflation*, counter to the imagined trend you're projecting anxiety about.

And, besides, revolutionaries don't have to 'wait' for certain economic conditions, anyway -- the class struggle and its effects *supersede* capitalist economics and affect *it*, anytime that working class activity picks up.

i'm generally in favour of gun control (probably because I live in the UK), but I love the historical connotations that a Huey P. Newton gun club has. It's spot on that when it comes to guns, it seems that there is one rule for whites and one rule for blacks. Whites with guns = freeeeeedummmm; blacks with guns = thuggery and crime, according to the white supremacy logic.

Is being a segregationist without cooperating with neo-nazis wrong? Because the OP says that the groups is only for African-Americans, and I saw a clip of them chanting "black power"...

You say that, but then there's a racist in the post literally right above yours who thinks that it's "great" because "gun rights belong to all races!"
