And it feels so liberating to say it. I am a Jew, but I reject what the state of Israel has done and is doing in my name. I feel as though, because of my heritage, I am some sort of 'self-hater' and that I wear this special responsibility to explain why I am deviating from the Zionist path.
People tell me to tone it down, to stop being 'anti-semitic' (as if, as a Jewish and a respectful person, I would ever be!), to think of the jews, to think of what the arabs want to apparently do to the jews. And why? If I, as a jew in a wealthy part of the world with almost the perfect combination of privilege, can reject the oppression perpetrated by the state of Israel, then there must be jews all over this country and other parts of the world that are thinking similarly.
Like I said at the start, it just feels liberating to get this off my chest and I feel safe doing this in an online environment like revleft, because most of the time IRL you get shit in certain social/familial circles from people who don't even want to listen to your arguments, they just hear what they want to hear. This is a political statement but I think it's probably just my own exclamation, rather than a thread with an inherent idea behind it, hence why it's in non-political.
