Hello all, obviously I am new to RevLeft, though I've read threads here in the past, as I've encountered them through web searches (which is how I found RevLeft in the first place). A little about myself: I am from Indiana, which is a miserable place to be in general, but especially for anyone with liberal or left-leaning sensibilities; I have more or less always been left-leaning, especially since my dad was a hippie, my mom isn't dogmatic, and my grandpa (whom I've lived with much of my life) is a staunch Democrat, fan of FDR and Truman (he was born in the Depression), self-professed "union man," and crypto-socialist/crypto-agnostic. So in short, I had somewhat favorable up raising in that regard. But also I've come into increasingly greater political and social consiousness over the past few years, aided by college friends and reading authors like Foucault and of course Marx (to name only two). But in any case, I hope that by coming here I can connect with and engage other leftists, partly to continue to grow in my own awareness and learn practical ways of furthering the radical/revolutionary cause, but also just to have some good discussions on things like philosophy, art, economics, and of course politics. Anyways, Viva la Revolucion, camaradas!
Welcome :)

Well, they're still (and hopefully will continue to be) in development, but if I had to apply a provisional label to myself, I'd say that I favor anarcho-communism. Since I've currently been learning a little bit about economics (specifically mainstream "neoclassical" theory – ever since I got into a long argument with a friend of mine who studied Econ in college), I've come to more or less confirm my belief that capitalism – free market or not (i.e. "Green capitalism" or ethical capitalism) – is not the answer to social problems, nor is government, whether in the form of a centrally planned economy or neoliberal social and economic policies. As for political action, I've been considering the matter for a while now, and though no ideal strategy has presented itself, I strongly favor revolution over reform.

Thanks! (I know there's a rule about one-line replies, but I'm not sure what to add, besides this disclaimer!)
