Just stumbled across this. Anyone who's tried acid will see why this is hilarious. I want to believe this is satire but I'm pretty sure it's real.

"Even after you quit using, flashbacks (recurrences that come up unexpectedly and without any chemical inducement) occur, and can be truly frightening. They stop you in your tracks, and throw you back into a solitary world that’s ironically filled with people. Is it safe here? Clearly not. Clearly you’re sick, and the disease of addiction has taken over."

That last line especially lol

"The biggest danger with LSD is that most users need to increase the amount they take to achieve the same high. Pile on the volatile nature of what’s on the market with the cognitive and physical damage at risk, and this makes LSD abuse dangerous and frequently fatal."

i've had trouble with alcohol, cocaine and heroin. aside from them, i've done many other drugs. the one class of drugs i can safely say i felt no symptoms of addiction for is psychedelics.

Idunno, I've met some pretty 'spun out' people and I can think of a couple friends who trip way to much but the article was pretty funny, lol

"Sure, some visions were a little freaky. It was freakier still to realize no one else was seeing them. Did that mean you were alone? No, not technically; you were at a party, people all around, some of whom took the same pills (http://www.therecoveryvillage.com/what-we-treat/prescription-drugs/) as you. But if they don’t see what you’re seeing, then how can they help you escape from its clutches? Because sometimes, these sightings go wrong. The rabbit trail gets ugly, and you become convinced you’re stuck there forever. But you think this isn’t LSD addiction – it’s just one or two bad nights."

Lol I love how they rationalize that you are addicted by using bad trip experiences.

So your saying that you were stuck in a time loop while on LSD.... Hmm... It is obviously you are an addict. Only an addict would have a bad trip. : D

Mind you I have always found shared visions experienced by the group to be FAAAAR more fucking freaky and reality shattering than my own visions.

yeah i know some folks who've definitely fried themselves on psychedelics. not an addiction in the same way as alcohol maybe but can still be abused

Usually though in abuse the person gets enjoyment when they use (abuse) a drug, and need it frequently. But if you use psychedelics frequently then from what I've read you tend to "lose the magic" of the whole experience and have it not be enjoyable anymore. So given that, I can't imagine why anyone would overuse/abuse psychedelics, although I know of course that it does happen. Also, if you're judging that someone has "fried themselves" based on ridiculous claims like "the aliens are trying to communicate me" or something like that, I think it's just that people who would be likely to take up these crazy beliefs also are just more drawn to psychedelics naturally, as opposed to it being a cause of any psychedelic itself. In other words, the psychs just expose their penchant to take up crazy ideas. The main exception is MDMA (which is technically a psychedelic) as too much repeated usage of that is most certainly not healthy even if done as little as 10 times a year.

I wouldn't lump MDMA in with other psychedelic substances. MDMA is much more closely related to amphetamines in terms of chemical structure and effect on the body. LSD, DMT, and among other traditional psychedelic substance have an Indole/Tryptamine structure as opposed to the Phenetylamine structure found in MDMA and other substituted amphetamines.

This does not mean MDMA does not have hallucinogenic properties, many amphetamines when take at certain dosages have varying degrees of hallucinogenic effects. This being said, MDMA does not fall in line chemically or psychoactivly(sp?) with your traditional psychedelic.

im not talking about people just believing in weird alien stuff, but giving themselves what seems like some form of brain damage or triggering/expanding preexisting conditions. i'm not against hallucinogens or anything, i've taken plenty but doing chemicals every day for weeks or months can't be good for you

You have to watch it multiple times.
Bonus points if your high while watching it.
