People shouldn't say Kim Il-sung just because he happened to be around at the right time when Korea had a lot of outside support. It's easy to run a country under those conditions.

When things became more difficult, Jong-il held the country together and supported the military to help DPRK transform into what it is now. So, he has my vote.

I don't like any of them, but Kim Il-Sung appears to be less ideologically incorrect and more to the left than the other two. He may have been responsible for more atrocities, however.

No Kim is definitely best Kim! I agree with Socialisme ou Barbarie on this one. The best outcome would be a self-organized workers' revolution, overturning the Kim dynasty and smashing the power of the oppressive bureaucracy that is running the lives of the unfortunate population of North Korea.
