Squaters from threatend social center "de Vloek" occupy the Hague pier landmark

So one of few remaining prominent squatted social centers, "de vloek van schevening" (the pirate curse of scheveningen), squated 15 years ago in the the hague harbour (which is called scheveningen) is under threat of eviction to make place for another yuppie sailing prestige project that no one needs aimed at gentrifying the harbor.

as part of their broader campaign they occupied today the landmark "pier van scheveningen" which has been standing empty for a year since the owners went bankrupt.

while they got evicted straight away they captured a lot of media attention, not in small part to the quite iconic photo-ops it provided:
