I wonder how leftists view voting and what is the origins of it and also how does it function in bourgeoisie society?

Of course all my life I've been hearing the "If you don't vote you can't complain" which I think there's something questionable about that regarding how things work.

Also as for the origins which is something I've been thinking about lately, is voting really similar to petitions/slackactism (as I pointed out in of the threads I've created here) or here's something else I've been thinking about...what is the real reason why only white men (not women, PoC, etc) voted historically? is voting really about property owners deciding on things? Which is why I've been questioning about the origins of voting regarding it's questionable history which I've been wondering about it's origins and what system it came from and such.

Voting is how the bourgeoisie legitimizes its rule. It fools the working man into thinking that they have political power because they believe that they decide who becomes elected. This false mask of freedom falls when you realize that the politicians you vote in are the same people who own the means of production.
