What the fuck is a thot?
What the fuck is a ratchet?
Also what the fuck do people still think chivalry is good and not ancient sexism that portrays woman as vulnerable and weak in constant need of assistance et cetera?

1. I think a thot is a woman who is promiscuous.
2. Ratchet is acting "ghetto".
3. Fuck knows why

Thot means "that ho over there" or originally did. Now I guess it just means whore.
I like to think that people just confuse chivalry with politeness and don't realize that you can be polite and hold doors for people in general, not just women, and shit without being a sexist douche. But that's probably wishful thinking.

I thought it meant 'that ho out there'
Also, ratchet is more than just 'acting ghetto' it means specifically a promiscuous, lower class, rude obnoxious 'ghetto hoe.'
Also chivalry is pretty cool because in pretttttttyy lazy, let me tell you, lol *.*

I've been seeing and hearing 'ratchet' and 'thot' lately and it is annoying the shit out of literally. I'm going to start calling people out on this because I hate sexist trash, and I told my girlfriend the meaning of ratchet based on a conversation Vox and I had. She didn't know ratchet meant that and she won't use it now.
Also recently me, my dad, and my girlfriend were at the store. I would let my girlfriend carry anything heavy because that's the way I am, I like to pick up and carry heavy things. She insisted she wanted to carry the cases of water and so she carried them until my dad took them from her. She asked why and my dad said: "That's because Jay and I are men that believe in chivalry." That's more paraphrasing because I don't remember exactly as he said. This was before I came out to him as trans though.

How do I properly respond to someone trying to defend the use of ableist language or the use of racist language. I've heard a few people defend the word 'nigger' and insist times have changed and it's cool to use it after all the 'blacks' use it a lot, or they'll say how it's just a word and it has a different meaning today. People seem to completely ignore that racism still heavily exists and they seem to completely ignore history. The same seems to go with people saying 'that's lame' or 'that's retarded.' What's the best way to respond?

 People really use that reasoning to defend the use of 'nigger'? You should tell them to go call a black person that so that they can see how 'acceptable' it is in today's society.

Thot = that hoe over there. But it's used like a noun, e.g. she's a thot. Even though that doesn't make sense.
Ratchet can be an adjective or a noun, meaning - any combination of - trashy, shameless, ignorant and hoe-like. E.g. she is a ratchet OR she's hella ratchet.
Thot pisses me off because it's just stupid on every level. There's literally no way to use it without sounding like a moron imo.
Ratchet can have some comedic value because it can be a funny way of saying idiot, but when you look at it's usage it's nearly always used to describe lower class black women, kind of like the word "chav" in the UK (lower class people who dress/live a certain way) but for black lower class females.

Chivalry sexist? Stupid political correctness, you can't even plunder peasant areas and kill non-noble prisoners of war anymore. What is the world coming to.

So if I offer to carry something heavy for an elderly woman does that make me an ageist as well?
How about if I hold the door open for a young woman in a wheel chair? Does that make me bigoted towards the handicapped?

Man, that depends on the context so much it's not funny. If the elderly woman obviously has problems carrying her stuff, then sure, but if not, then you're sort of assuming she's physically weak because she's old, which is something a lot of older people find offensive in my experience. As for the woman in the wheelchair, I think that's nice as long as you don't make too much of a fuss about it. I mean, none of this is really discrimination in the sense of structural oppression either way, but it could be the difference between being nice and inadvertently hurting someone.

I would say ratchet contains no comedic value whatsoever because it is entirely sexist. It's like saying you can call a human woman a ***** in some circumstances like when she's being an asshole. There is no justifying sexism. I'm not saying you're a sexist here or defending it, but just adding my two cents to that part.

This is entirely what 870 said. What are you getting at with this?
