How was old Gwrtheyrn supposed to know that inviting a band of warriors and their families to settle some land and fight some Picts would turn out to be a bad idea if you couldn't afford to pay them?

We believe in carbs. Lots of carbs. Fried things too. All fried things really. Especially friend carbs. Also meat and gravy. And pies. So our food, I think, probably appeals to a certain kind of palette. If you like stodgy, meat based food that's potentially fried, then you'll like English food.
Also, we love cakes...And buns. And any sweat bread based delight...With cream..And jam. Umm jam.

probably a Black Sheep beer then. I've been to their brewery in Masham, quite nice as brewery trips go (and to be honest, if you've been on one you've been on all of them.) The Theakston's brewery is within spitting distance too.

You forgot the deep fried Mars bars. But all that looks delicious to me. Then when it comes to Scottish food, I wanna try haggis. I said British to include them too. English food really appeals to me, I guess. They sell both Heinz spotted dick and treacle pudding in a can over here. It's pretty good for canned I've heard. We have British sections in many grocery stores here.
Hell, I'd like to come live in England, but getting the work visa is a pain in the ass. Even though I'm from a friendly country, and already know English. I'd like the change of pace from the US. Plus then I can take the Chunnel, and drive around Europe. Having a lot of Europe in driving distance would be pretty awesome, I think.

Yeah but said odd food (which is a hobby of mine) and adorable pudgy New Yorker is not what's being discussed. Odd or otherwise British food should be declared inhumane by the UN and I'm pretty sure was mentioned in the Geneva convention. The idea that the British people are still be subjected to this day and day out still to this day is a testament to the decay and tyranny of the Crown.

I'm from Plymouth so I was virtually brought up on Cornish Pasties. That's some decent British food right there. British food to me though is a huge amalgam of different cultures, you have your roast dinners, your curries, your sweet pastries, your kebabs, your spag bols, your fish and chips, sweet and sour chicken, rice and peas... food from all over the place has been appropriated by British imperialism and then goes in my stomach.

Pasties are really good. I've gotten them frozen off of the internet. So they're easy to make. I'm sure I could make them homemade. But I don't have the time for that sorta thing.
Also, your city's gin is excellent. Probably my favourite kind of gin.
